Millie's Homemade Ice Cream

Staff was very nice but ice cream was very icy, had ice chips in it. This was my first time so not sure if that is a location issue or standard. Peanut butter ice cream was grainy. Good flavors though :)

I had their vanilla ice-cream. It was rich and flavorful! Had a nice chat with the owner and he informed us that many of the ingredients and milk are sourced from local farmers and helps support our area which is great. Had a friend with me who said he’d love to try but he is lactose intolerant and it turned out they also had dairy free options. Definitely recommend!

Fantastic ice cream. Honestly some of the best I've had in any city! Came here with a friend while visiting Pittsburgh and was blown away by the quality.

The service was also excellent. The person behind the counter walked us through the ingredients in the various flavors and helped us try a few we might like.

The ice cream wasn't as sweet as I am used to, didn't have a smoothness to it, and the chocolate shavings in the ice cream tasted waxy. For one fist sized scoop it was $6.30 !!!!!!

But, with all of that said, if you enjoy ice cream that isn't overly sweet but has supple hints of the flavour you're getting, I do think you would like this place! The workers are always nice too!

What an enjoyable experience! I wish we had this place down in Texas. Fantastic customer service, and ice cream that tastes unbelievable. The employees did not have ear buds in, or constantly checking their phones, I had their full attention, and they were patient with me. The owners were so friendly and intentional during my visit, I will continue to come back to Millie’s when I travel to Pittsburgh. The joy and kindness radiates from them. It’s a different atmosphere when you are surrounded by people who love what they do. I can’t wait to surprise my wife when I have it shipped down to us. Thank y’all so so so much.

Kid-friendliness: Fun, bright environment. The two workers behind the counter were so kind and willing to help make selections. Decor is fun and energetic. I will bring my family here.

I had my baby shower catered with the to-go option. It was ready by the time i needed it day of my party. Also it came with more than enough toppings and some great presentation. The ice packs kept the ice cream frozen until it was ready to eat (despite the heat wave)!

p.s. Keep the red velvet gob as a permanent flavor!
