Tiny bar that is very cool. Michael the bartender takes great pride in his cocktails. When we asked for a recommendation he said all the drinks on the menu were his babies. We especially liked the monktini. It's potent, so 2 is a lot

Decided to try this place despite google saying it may be closed (spoiler it’s not.) the bar was a cozy 10 person space with cocktails that were just what I wanted. The bartender -Michael- gets 6/5 stars. So welcoming with the perfect amount of interaction. When in for a drink before dinner and ended up staying till 10. Will visit again soon

As the sign over the bar says, The Monk is the smallest licensed bar in Pennsylvania. Housed in The Priory hotel, itself a former monastery, it had previously served as a library and vault. It can comfortably--snugly, perhaps--seat 10 people. On a quiet Monday night, I had the space to myself. Hotel guests are allowed to bring their purchases to their rooms, but I loved sitting in the bar by myself (typing these words). I had a carajilo, a wonderful combination of cold brew coffee and rum (and as you can see, whipped cream). I'm not sure if I'll achieve any spiritual breakthroughs tonight, but my soul is at peace here.

It’s the smallest bar in Pennsylvania, so just from that I needed to check it out. It’s also very convenient if you’re staying at the Priory hotel. A great selection of drinks and several interesting specialty cocktails. I love that the liquor bottles are stored in an old vault originally used for a document archive.

This place is a hidden gem that we happened upon while sharing an evening with friends. It is a beautiful building with an even more fascinating history, all told and preserved by its resident historian and talented mixologist Mike.Don't cheat yourself, indulge!

Best kept secret in PGH. Wonderful mixologist, intimate bar, fancy lounge. The monktini was incredible.

Such a clever, well done, historical, smallest, greatest bar ever! Definitely worth stepping off the noisy street for a cocktail!

My husband and I live in Pittsburgh, but had a night away at the Priory. We stopped in at Monk's Bar, and what a treat. Micheal the bartender was nothing short of amazing. We each enjoyed a newly created pumpkin cocktail, which was delicious, and on our second round, my husband tried the monktini, which he loved, and I got to be a Guinea pig for a new cocktail that Micheal was developing. It was a s'mores cocktail, and came with a side of 3 s'mores. The best and most fun part was roasting the marshmallows over a candle at our table. we had a great evening and really enjoyed our time here.

We discovered another one of Pittsburgh’s Northside gems tonight. Great cocktail menu, cozy atmosphere, and excellent service. Thank you, Rachel!
