The atmosphere was amazing and our server was extremely helpful. My husband has a diary intolerance and she marked the menu to show us what had diary and things where the diary could be removed from the item. It was a wonderful experience. The food was OUTSTANDING. I'm talking like some of the best bites I've had. The oxtail was my favorite; seasoned to perfection and had a wonderful gooey texture with the cheese. This was one of the times where the cheese could be removed for my husband. This is a tapas type restaurant where you can get small plates of shared food. The servers will recommend the amount of plates to share, which is helpful in deciding what to get. The goat cheese flan was impeccable. It came with a smoked maple syrup and pecans, and was absolutely delicious. Even if you are not a fan of goat cheese, I would recommend to just try it. The smoky sweetness of the maple helps to hide some of the funkiness of the goat cheese. The pecans added a nice crunch. It really reminded me of pumpkin pie, which was a surprising, but highly recommended as a nice fall dessert. If you have not been here, I seriously recommend going. 10/10 on all dining aspects.

The appetizer that we ordered “Conservas” was delicious. My favorite the queso en aceite and the warm bread. Great service at the table. Nice ambience, however the level of noise is really high, which forces everybody around you to yell to be able to be heard, which again it makes the problem even worse. That was definitely not so nice.

We have Spanish food regularly, but everything on the menu was different than what we normally prepare ourselves. Everything was fresh and the service was excellent. We look forward to our next meal at Morcilla.

My husband and I were really looking forward to a good experience since we had heard from other people how good Morcilla's was . It started of great. We immediately got serviced with water and had a good waitress. We received our first small plate within 10 after we ordered. We ordered a total of four different dishes, though. At first, we thought our waitress was pacing us with the meals after our first one. But then we noticed the couple who sat 25 minutes after us, got their food immediately (dishes that looked awfully familiar to what we ordered) meanwhile we still did NOT receive the rest of our dishes. while our waitress was nice, she did not ever check up on us since she picked up our first small plate when we were done and that did not feel good. we waited a long while and noticed the same couple next to us had finished their food that we believed at this point was ours. and we still had not received our food nor did our waitress come check on us the whole time. We realized that there had to have been a mistake, but we were so disappointed at the service or lack of awareness/ communication that we could not stay so we decided the next time the waitress would come to our table, We would be asking for the check. eventually our waitress came with two glasses of wine and some kind of finger food for the inconvenience. But at this point, we were ready to go. we really wished that our experience was an amazing one, but sadly it had to be cut short.

The food was excellent and the service superb. One of my favorite restaurants in Pittsburgh!

Opentable Diner

One of, if not my favorite restaurant in Pittsburgh. Food and atmosphere are amazing. Had excellent service each time I've been.

This restaurant experience was impeccable. Service was perfect and the food was out of this world. Flavor combinations in the conservas, tomato & peach salad, and baby back pork ribs were amazing. Kudos to whoever created this menu!!!

One of the best restaurants in the city - amazing plates, wonderfully knowledgable staff. Great for a small group of 4-5 people

We always enjoy evenings spent at Morcilla's. Last night was particularly great. We enjoyed absolutely every dish we ordered and would order all of them again! We had: scallop crudo, beef tartare, little gem salad, pork ribs & trout. Needless to say, we walked out well beyond stuffed and satisfied! The cocktails were fine. The service was also fine. We will look forward to returning for sure!

My first meal at Morcilla. The restaurant is very inviting with wood everywhere and soft lighting. Our server was very informative about how to go about ordering and I was impressed at her descriptions of each dish showing she clearly knows the menu and what the chef is trying to achieve . The drink menu is unique and I opted for the white sangria that was elevated and not too sweet. The food portions were appropriately sized and we appreciated our server recommending adding an additional piece if the dish was a single bite for 2 as there were 3 of us. The oxtail small plate was one of these served on an individual crostini. It was amazing. We finished with one of each of the dessert offerings and couldn't decide if the fresh strawberry sorbet or flan was our favorite. Definitely recommend eating here.

The food and service were both amazing and exceeded all expectations. I will be going back very soon.

Love it but be warned that it is small and you can feel crammed. However, it's one of the only places outside southern Spain where I have found Iberian ham. And that is worth it! I would definitely recommend for great food and drinks and enjoy the smaller ambience.

First time was awesome! Great service, great food.
Second time, okay service, pretty much the same food. Goat rodeo, charcuterie - good but not worth the price. Half chicken - greasy and unseasoned... and $50. Ox tails tasted like beef in a tomato sauce. Cod cheeks are alright.
Definitely order extra bread, it's good and you'll need it for your cheese/charcuterie courses.
We keep checking the menu online for new things but it never changes. Don't think we'll be back. Wasn't bad, but nothing is calling us back.

Update 9 mos later: still epic. Try the trout with the in house salsa verde and that oxtail…. Unbelievable. Shout out to our waitress who brought thoughtful order to the way in which our haphazard order of 5 small plates appeared.

I’ve lived in cities all over the US (New York, Providence, Tucson, Bay Area). Morcilla is in my top 5 restaurants ever. Words cannot justify, just go - taste and see.
