drinks are delicious, and they have had vegan snacks every time we’ve visited (vegan ube cookie, red bean onigiri, teriyaki chickpea onigiri, almond chia pudding). staff is friendly and knowledgeable.
Was looking for a drink for my drive home so I popped in here! I love matcha and trying different ones from different places! 🍵
This one did not disappoint!
The man making the drinks was super friendly and extremely insightful!
He helped us pick out flavors and everything with some recommendations and they did not disappoint!
We got a strawberry puree matcha the strawberry flavor was very subtle but the perfect for a lightly sweetened flavor
And I got a lavender iced matcha (my favorite!)
It was the perfect ratio of everything!
Mikkusu Matcha Tea House (formerly Mosaic Tea Leaf - I think it was just a name change(?), not a change in ownership) is a true gem in the city. I’ve tried a variety of their drinks - the iced hojicha rose latte and iced celestial cocoa latte are particular standouts, especially since I limit my caffeine intake.
The staff is always incredibly friendly and helpful. I also really appreciate that when I asked to leave out the added sugar syrup in certain drinks, they were able to accommodate - delicious even without it!
I travel often, and it’s far too common to walk into chain or corporate-run tea shops where everything is pre-mixed and artificial, with no room for simple requests. Lucky to have a place like this in the city.
• One clearly marked house-made vegan cookie. Flavor varies depending on the season. • Often have other small vegan snacks like a basic chia pudding and protein bars for sale. • The default milk in their drinks is vegan (yay!) and changes based on the flavor profile of the drink Of course you can always ask for a different milk. • Has a core drink menu which consists of matcha blended with other teas or herbs plus a rotating seasonal menu (ex. strawberry matcha for summer, chai matcha for fall, cocoa mint matcha for winter, sakura rose matcha for spring). Summer and spring flavors are personally my favorite!
Love it!
We ordered Hojicha float and a Matcha latte float! Both are so good! Not too sweet so I can taste the matcha flavor! Also, I ask them to taste matcha ice cream because float has ice cream with half vanilla half matcha! Because I wanna feel the deep Matcha flavor! And it definitely refreshes me after a long drive!
The best matcha I've had this far.
I tried this matcha place because it has such a good reviews and 5 stars but it left me disappointed. When place specialises in matcha I expect high quality. Unfortunately the matcha flavour was very soft almost none, and matcha powder was not brushed properly as you can see on the photo. I hope it to get better quality here next time.
I bought a container of sakura rose matcha at Pittsburgh Veg Fair and just used it to make an iced latte. It's absolutely delicious, and I can't wait to buy more from Mikkusu.
Mikkusu is the best matcha in Pittsburgh. Their matcha latte always hits the spot and their seasonal drinks, especially their winter ones, are fabulous. I love coming here!
Yummy strawberry matcha!

Five stars for the amazing service! The staff was super friendly and helpful. My matcha latte was a little weak for my taste, though. I prefer a bolder matcha flavor. Maybe next time I'll ask for an extra shot.
Atmosphere amazing!
This place is one of my favorites. No tipping and no upcharge for non dairy milk.
Absolutely delicious matcha drinks with mixologist skill, lovely service, and excellent baked goods: cookies, miso-sesame biscuits are a must try! My gf and I are regulars here. We think it’s the best matcha house in Pittsburgh.
Besides the drinks and baked goods, they offer blended matcha powders for at-home as well as tasteful tea-mixing accoutrement. We’ve enjoyed making teas at home, but there’s nothing like coming in.
We haven’t tried their soft-serve yet but are excited to!
Great place to sip and work on WiFi as well.
