Muddy Waters Oyster Bar

Stopped in for something different and special, and did not disappoint!!! Incredible unique old fashion, poppin’ oysters and a watermelon salad to melt in! Wish I could eat here forever! Great music and vibes!

What a great time. Lively atmosphere with live jazz, great food, and one of the best dirty martinis in town. The oysters were excellent, as were the ribs, watermelon salad, and fried green tomatoes. Service was super friendly and our server made great recommendations - like he knew exactly what we wanted. I’ll be going back soon and often.

We love this place! The oysters are delicious, which is mainly what we come here for, though everything we’ve tried has been spectacular. Special shout out to Ernest and Leah! Both are so much fun to be around, are spot on with their service, often going above and beyond and if you do yourself a favor and drop by while Ernest is behind the bar, his old fashioned is the absolute BEST! We can’t help but stumble out every time we visit. 😂 HIGHLY recommend Muddy Waters!

My wife and I started our evening with a half dozen chargrilled oysters- DELICIOUS ! We followed up with 2 cajun oyster shooters- lots of flavor & sweet oysters! We ordered the cornbread- it was so dry and it crumbled all over the table, and our server agreed. We were never given the option of having it removed from our bill, just given the option of replacing it with the hushpuppies. We declined out of fear they would be just as dry. Our entrees- the Shrimp & Grits, and the Catfish Etouffee were the stars! Delcious!! I ordered a Sazerac- top of the line! It was disappointing that the cornbread wasn't offered for removal and the Owner was aware of it.
Overall, we do recommend trying Muddy Waters.

I would go back again. Good selection of oysters. Waitress was friendly and a good server. Bar tender was slow, and drinks were not so good. Keep the drinks simple.

Update: about the same, but the bar was running smoothly. Drinks were ok. The oysters were still the star of the show. Excellent variety from both coasts. The oysters they did have were top notch. I recognized many of them as my preferred oysters

Thank you for the incredible service and amazing food tonight! We ended up here to celebrate my daughter’s 21st birthday after a disappointing experience earlier at Pittsburgh’s new trendy spot, Palm Palm. The quality of food and service there just didn’t meet expectations — so we came back to our favorite place, and it was the best decision.

Our waitress, Sasha, was absolutely wonderful, and even the owner came by several times to check on us. She was so kind and down-to-earth. It truly turned into a beautiful and memorable evening for my daughter. Thank you for making her special day so perfect!

Favorite place in town for oysters. The fried tomatoes, gator bites, catfish nuggets, crab dip, and steak frites, are some of our go-tos. Friday nights they have jazz.

The food was excellent. The service was outstanding. Oysters were phenomenal. They unfortunately do not have an Oysters Rockefeller, and that was disappointing. I was able to get char grilled Oysters, and they did not disappoint!! Overall, it was a great spot, and I would recommend it!!
