Nice little quaint spot with good food and service!
Atmosphere was nice. Able to talk without yelling across the table. Also it gives a feeling of having been there awhile and being a meeting spot for locals over many years. Which was nice.

Stopped in for dinner. I ordered the mahi mahi special and unfortunately it came raw in the center. I sent it back, they finished cooking it and brought it back. My wife had a burger and she said it was fine. Service was good. Unfortunate about the raw fish. A meat thermometer would help not to make this kind of mistake.

Management does not treat staff fair. They discriminate against the LGBTQ community in front of customers which I didn’t like! I always liked coming here to see the bartender who is apart of the LGBTQ community I believe his name is Gerald! He was always so kind and attentive. I found out from another employee that he is no longer with the company which is very unprofessional. I will not return due to the discrimination I witnessed first hand against the LGBTQ community and black community as well. If you stand for anything I would not recommend returning to this place!

Very solid neighborhood spot for some tasty American food. A relatively small place, nice feel to it. Nice sandwiches, burgers, meat, and the like. I tried out popular salmon burger and a brownie.

The salmon burger was quite good. Really appreciated that the bun wasn’t too buttery. Vegetables (lettuce, tomato) were fresh and crisp. The salmon itself well cooked. Not the most flavorful, but pretty good. I loved the aoli they served on the side. Creamy, flavorful, refreshing. Perfect.

The coleslaw was also pretty good. You can choose coleslaw or fries for the sides. The coleslaw serving was definitely solid, and it was creamy, refreshing, and overall nice.

The brownie I tried was kind of just okay. I don’t think it’s made in house (tasted kind of store bought or brand mix). Still pretty good, but would t get again. $4 isnt a bad price for it, as it’s a decent size.

All in all, a nice spot. Glad I tried it out. The salmon burger hit the spot, and I’d come back to try some other good burgers.

Vegetarian options: Some burgers, salads, and other options

Dietary restrictions: Some healthy options

Kid-friendliness: I believe there is a kids menu

Pricey but the food was pretty good. Fries were okay. For the price? Not sure about it.

Love and Light

This little neighborhood bistro has survived in the same location since 1986, which speaks volumes. I've never had anything there that I haven't liked and I've been eating there since I was a young adult. I finally got to try their meat dishes this past year and I'm currently obsessed with their steak filet sandwich. It was cooked and flavored to perfection. The pittsburgh salad is another great bet, I'm not used to olives on a Pgh salad so I omit them, but make sure to order this salad with ranch for a true gastro celebration.

My husband and I both ordered salads and they were great! I'd definitely come back for another.
The service was pretty good, but it took a while to get the check.
The atmosphere needs work. Seats are super annoying. Someone behind me moves so did I.

Not much has changed over the many years I have been coming to the Murray Avenue Grill. It's always a notch above almost everything around. My burger was cooked nicely, juicy and flavorful. However, a stray tomato core snuck through, a minor oversight that felt out of place considering the overall quality. Is that slice really worth it to send out to the customer. Would it have been so bad to even just cut it out.
Service has always been fantastic.
Everyone should check it out. You can just go for yourself!

The food was topped tier. Really enjoyed the burger and sandwich. Appetizers were decent. French onion soup was extremely hot but really good. The kids liked what they ate. Strongly recommend the onion rings. The floors were very strange and slippery, unsure why that has not been addressed.

There is a certain old world charm to Murray Avenue Grill which makes you feel like you’re back in the early 2000s. The menu is mostly all American with certain other western dishes here and there. There is booth style seating for more parts, but there are individual seats and tables as well for couples or solo Diners. I went on in a Sunday evening, expecting it to be very crowded, but the rain as well as the marathon. The restaurant was quite partly occupied and hence finding a seating was no trouble. The hostess was the sweetest ever, and the service in general was very quick and efficient and yet personalble. I couldn’t resist the French onions soup, which was the special of the day, and it was made perfectly with the right amount of onions and cheese. For my mains, I went for the Pittsburgh burger, which came with a mountain of fries which I had to take away because I could not finish more than half of it. The burger itself had bacon, cheddar, and tomato, onion, and lettuce. I asked mine to be done medium well, and the cook on the burger was perfect. It was very filling, and the portion sizes were more than enough for one person. Overall, a solid place for some good quality and casual dinner.
