Good portion for lunch, it was cute and small. Chicken was not what I wanted it to

This place is not good, I cannot trust these types of places anymore. The crab Rangoon was unlike any I have ever had (not in a good way) tasted like trash. Chicken was mushy and weird, when I walked in no one was there... not shocking, my first ever yelp review because of how bad my experience was. Never go here. Just hoping I don't get sick from the food at this point. Negative stars

Food is delicious. Staff is hospitable and professional. Place is very clean including the restrooms.Parking: Parking lot down the street if you can't park on the street. After a certain time, parking is free in that lot. We've had no issues finding someplace close to park.

The New China Inn is my favorite restaurant in Pittsburgh! It is a family-owned and operated business in a very convenient location in Oakland on Centre Avenue with an extraordinary Menu of healthful Chinese foods at very reasonable prices. Being vegetarian, I am amazed at all the many vegetable and tofu dishes available in addition to all the chicken, meat and seafood dishes on the menu. And I especially love the great variety of soups, such as Egg Drop Soup, Vegetable and Bean Curd Soup, and my favorite, Japanese Miso Soup. The Luncheon Specials are served until 4 pm every day. I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone who loves great Chinese food at affordable prices. And if you don't love Chinese food yet, you will after a visit to New China Inn in Oakland! Whether it's takeout, delivery, or eating in the restaurant that's your preference, the food is always great, served or delivered nice and hot, and cooked with just the right amount of spices to please everyone.

Enjoyed our chicken lo Mien (lots of flavor) and Szechuan chicken (could have been a tad bit spicier). Cashier was polite. Food did not take long to prepare. We will be going back!

Very run down Chinese spot. If your hungry, sure stop and get some food. I got the "lunch special" which I asked for fried rice and still received white rice. I wouldn't order them again but like I said if your hungry sure. Just nothing special in my opinion.

It is a great little place. For reasons I will not go into I had to eat broth and soup for a month. I went in asking what had the most broth in it. The lady helped me and made several different kinds of soup in a way I could eat them. I was going to go round the bend if i had to eat the same canned broth again. They really, really helped me when i needed itDietary restrictions: They have an extensive vegan menu

They were kind to deliver to the hospital to a sick friend. I'll go back because of that. Also, she enjoyed the food

Downloaded Yelp to write my first and last review of this restaurant...Dining area is littered with trash and leftover food and my one order of general tso's took 25 minutes when I was the only customer. After waiting almost half an hour for my food, it was mushy, undercooked, and still partially cold. Worst experience of my life.

Drove down from Burlington, Ontario for a Penguin game. Stayed at the Marriott across the street from PPG arena. Wife is Chinese so we walked to the China Inn restraunt. Outstanding food at a reasonable price. Definitely worth the visit. Very nice interior with a pleasant staff. Couldn’t believe the number of people getting take out.

Worst Chinese food I have ever had! Stay away... not kidding. The general Tsos chicken was awful. It was mushy and tough, and tasted like plastic. Ate three pieces and couldn't eat any more. I added an egg roll and it tasted like burnt fryer oil and something funky. The "fried rice" that I paid to upgrade to from the white rich was literally which rice with soy sauce. That's it. No veggies or anything. I just at an hour ago and my stomach isn't feeling too good. Im actually worried I might be getting sick from their food.

I think the food is great! The service is good. I don’t know why people are complaining about it. Yes, the girl doesn’t smile or talk a lot. But do you expect her to? As someone who grew up with Chinese parents and worked at a small family business and I can tell she’s working for her family. I asked her and she said she’s in 10th grade. This kid is still in tenth grade while carrying this job. And she probably doesn’t get paid because it’s a family business. If you guys think your life is so hard because a waiter didn’t greet you with a smile then leave. Honestly, she does what she needs to do. She just asked me for my order and gave me my order. No problems. She does her job. ??‍♀️Anyways, loved the food! They also have many choices! There’s a lot of vegetarian dishes for people!Vegetarian options: A whole menu for vegetarian dishes! Very convenient for vegetarians.

I ordered General tsos chicken and fried rice. The rice was dry and lukewarm and the chicken was basically just hot sauce. It tasted like how a petting zoo smells. This place is trash, don't go there unless you like trash

I did not expect authentic Chinese food here bc it looks like a Chinese-American place. But I loved the fried pork rib here! Every once in a while I have to come back for it. Very tasty and cheap. And one portion of it feeds me for two meals! I would recommend to try out some authentic Chinese food here as the negative comments are mainly about Chinese-American food. You won't regret! (Not the beef in Szechuan sauce though. It doesn't taste like what you would get in Szechuan, but they make it tasty in another way).

This place is pretty standard as far as Chinese takeout spots go. The food is decent and the prices are okay as well. I don't know what people are expecting when they critique this place for having a middle/high school aged cashier that isn't welcoming. They are a child, of course they don't want to be spending their after school free time working. Legally the minimum age to work in PA is fourteen, however, many takeout restaurants are family-owned and operated which means that compliance with child labor laws might not be regulated. It's a pretty decent Chinese food place, just order with reasonable intentions and don't be mean to the cashier.
