Today was the first time I ever visited the Market Square location and I ordered a hot chocolate. I'm not sure what I was served but it definitely wasn't hot chocolate or hot. I'm not sure if they use water as their base but it didn't it taste good and they even asked if I wanted milk and whipped cream.

Found this place on a recent visit to Pittsburgh, and I will definitely be returning for my morning coffee. There is already a line forming before they open (if that tells you anything). The place smells of beans and fresh coffee when you walk in, and they have a huge variety of different flavor coffee beans.
Only thing to note is that they do not have a large variety of sugar-free options for the specialty drinks/syrups. I asked for half of the sugar, which they were able to do.
I will definitely be back when I'm visiting again!

Huge selection of coffee and tea. Dont forget about the tea variety! Great customer service. I don't drink coffee was really able to help me pick out gifts for people who do drink coffee. Great service recommend.

The first time I was here was when I was in college. Years and years ago. Every time I've walked by it since I was amazed at how good it smelled and how much it reminded me of a simpler time in my life. I think that's one of the great things about long-time businesses — they invoke a sense of security and normalcy. Bonus points for a place that really hasn't changed at all. Combine all of that with my immense love for coffee, and, well, you have this review. Highly recommended, because while there are many places to grab a cup of Joe in the city, this is some of the best around.

I love coming to this coffee shop! The best selection of beans in Pittsburgh! I've been coming here for years on and off to get whole beans. I came in today and decided to try a flavored Iced Latte which was really good. Every time I come here and open the door it smells so good. Staff are always friendly!

Please hire someone to re-do your webpage. It is impossible to navigate from a cell phone. I would also think with coffee delivery subscription you’d offer some kind of small discount. About to take Nicholas out of the coffee rotation

The place it cool. Known about it for years but only recently started going daily because I was stopped several times on the street being told they have pup cups and I should take my dog.
I don’t think I’ll continue though.
I order a dirty chai pretty consistently but it tastes like a different drink every time I order. I thought, ok maybe they don’t know what a “dirty” chai is because my drink tasted like there was zero espresso in it the first couple times.
Instead I started ordering a chai latte with 2 shots of espresso after that. The first it tasted the exact same as the previous but the second day I did this it was perfect!
Today I asked for the same, a chai latte with two shots of espresso. I was handed what looked like a black coffee and I said I had ordered a latte. The barista rolled her eyes a bit and said it was a latte but took it back added milk and gave it back to me. I just said thank you and left. it’s whatever. But it tasted like espresso with milk, zero sweetness of a usual chai latte. I won’t be drinking it.

I’m exhausted trying to manipulate the drink I want out of this place. Sorry guys. The pup cups are the cutest I’ve seen tho.

Nicholas never disappoints. It's my daughter's favorite coffee shop near Point Park University. Cheaper than Starbucks, which is also on Market Square, and much better. Charming shop, polite, happy, helpful staff, and delicious seasonal specialty drinks. I had the Butterfly Bliss, which was a blackberry and vanilla latte, and daughter had the Banana Dark Chocolate latte. Butterfly Bliss was delicious! Daughter's coffee was good, but we really had trouble tasting the banana. I've had their cherry/white chocolate specialty coffee drink a year ago and still think about it. Closed on Sunday when I tried to go 2 weeks ago, so check their hours first. Love this place!

Nicholas has the coffee, anywhere! Also the best service, second to none! I ordered coffee yesterday morning. It arrived by noon the next day!❤️❤️. Thank you!

I have gone to Nicholas for almost 30 years. They roast their own coffee. I have tried many varieties over the years. The Mexican Chiapas whole bean is my favorite.
