Apparently they've just been cited for dead roaches and other food violations. 🤮🤢
A Chinese restaurant in Pittsburgh’s Squirrel Hill neighborhood was issued a consumer alert after inspectors found over a dozen violations.

Squirrel Hill Chinese restaurant given consumer alert after inspectors find rodent, roach droppings
By WPXI.com News Staff, 52 mins ago

According to a report, inspectors found 15 violations at Jian’s Kitchen on Thursday. Of those violations, three are considered a high risk for foodborne illness or injury.

The report states inspectors found fresh rodent droppings throughout the facility. They also located dead cockroaches, egg casings and droppings on the cookline.

The other high risk violations listed include food held at too warm of temperatures and the blade of a slicer soiled with food debris.

Other lower-level violations cited in the report include “foul-smelling” yellow grease around a grease trap, many containers of prepared foods without date marking and issues with the kitchen’s exhaust hood.

A re-inspection is scheduled for Feb. 17.

One of the best and most unique tofu dishes I've ever had - Cumin Tofu! Just a light crunch on the outside - don't know how they do it. Incredible flavor.

Honestly, I don't know how I ended up here but it was delish and the people were very nice. It's a small place and we made a reservation about an hour before showing up. I am a pretty routine kind of girl and I got the Kung Pao Shrimp and it was spicy! I don't believe in too spicy so I appreciated it.
Every bite was delish. The portion size was large and could probably feed another me. I have no idea what my boyfriend ordered but he ordered an entire fish and it came with a glove, Their crab rangons might be the best that I've had in the city. I can't wait
to check this place out again.

Hands down the best Chinese food I have *ever* had. Incredible. I ask for flavor and spice and boy did they deliver!!! I can’t wait to try everything they offer. The wait staff was kind and responsive. The environment was quiet and optimized for conversation. This is not your everyday “take out” Chinese. Respect the culture and order authentically. You will not be disappointed.

While not my personal taste, this is unique chinese, even for a neighborhood that is packed w great Asian foodThey seemed truly proud of what they made - a great sign. Flavors seemed more sweet or salty vs other chinese. I think had a bit of a russian influence. Some reminded me of American grandma home style food, just a bit wierder. Or like American fried food but w sweeter incorporations. If you are a foodie, try it, it’s unique, just not super for me
