I loved the place. I was there last night and my friends and I had a great time. They had great specials, the drinks were good. They had a DJ that played nice music. We were all dancing on the dance floor. The place was clean and the staff were very nice. I would recommend this place to anyone that is looking to have a good time at a bar in Oakland.

I recently voted this typical college bar.It is under new management. Staff is great. There is a new bartender, I think her name is Eve, who was great. Drinks are inexpensive.

Service was ok, alcohol deals are a joke though. Shots are watered down and all the dollar deals are 90% juice. They keep advertising cheap drinks but it's just juice.

If I could give this zero starts I would. We went out for my friends 21st birthday and we were the only ones there. The bartender Jennifer served us with attitude then was so disrespectful to the point where we felt that we had to leave. She was on her phone the entire time and drinking the drinks behind the bar. Then when we left she took it upon herself to scream out the window sarcastically calling us “sweetie” and telling my friend on her 21st birthday to come back when she “actually turns 21.” Not only did she ruin my best friends night but she made a huge scene. I have never been so disrespectfully treated by an employee of an establishment and in any other establishment, behaviour like that would result in dismissal from the job immediately. If you are thinking about going here, think again.

I've been to three formals here, and Panther House has made sure that each one ended poorly. The first two were shut down very prematurely due to the actions of only a single person. The third one made it until the end, but the Panther House staff turned off the last song abruptly after promising to play it. I normally wouldn't find this to be that big of an issue, but the bouncer then yelled expletives at the attendees and shouted at everyone to get out. I've never seen such rude and inconsiderate treatment of paying customers after a formal where everyone was well behaved. While some of the staff is nice, in general, it seems like the staff is very rude and doesn't care at all about their customers. One of the bouncers even used extremely demeaning and hurtful language to my female friend that I can't post in this review. Overall, there are just bad vibes from the staff. If you are looking to host a formal or date party, I do not recommend Panther House at all. There are many nicer, friendlier places in Oakland

The worst space I've ever been in my life. Club-level loud with beer all over the floor and everything is sticky. All I wanted to do was leave as soon as I walked in. It's some people's scene but I was overwhelmed through the whole experience

Panther House is literally the worst space I've ever existed in. Sure, if you're looking for a rowdy, club atmosphere with blackout drunk college kids you're golden. But I was just overwhelmed by the crank it up to 11 club music and sticky beer covering every surface. I ordered a vodka Red Bull and it was surely 70% vodka. Maybe good bang for your buck but also pretty dangerous. I couldn't get out of there fast enough.
I've been here a few times with friends. If you like crowded frat parties, this might be your kind of place. It's definitely not for me, since the music always sounds like I'm front row at a concert and the whole place is wet all the time. Definitely wont be coming back by unless dragged by my fraternity friends.

The smell of sewage hits you like a wall when you walk in. I ordered a beer on draft which was fine, but friends ordered mixed drinks and said they were awful. Bartender, DJ, and all other staff just sitting at bar doing nothing. Place was dead. DJ was only playing depressing John Mayer and Coldplay on a Saturday night at 11pm. Only switched to rap music when two african americans walked in, then switched back to Coldplay when they left and took a seat back at the bar. The kids that were coming in were only coming in to use the bathroom and then leave. Seriously just such a bummer atmosphere. Get the energy up and get rid of the smell and you'd be an awesome spot!

This bar is probably liked by a lot of Pitt students. And honestly it has a lot of potential. Their fatal flaw however is how f****** stupid the DJ was. I went there one time and can personally say I will never go back simply because of the DJ. Every good song he played, he would first add these little noises he made up to the song. And then this man would literally skip to the next song after 30 seconds. No one could gather any momentum. Dumbass
