Great food and reasonable prices!
One of my favorite Indian restaurants in Pittsburgh
Loved this place until I got food poisoning.
They have a very good lunch buffet, nice choice of proteins with some veggie options, good samosas, and great rice. The dining space is a little limited so you may expect a wait time during peak hours.
Great buffet.
We come regularly and visit the thrift shop next door.
Always good.
Harpreet, you and your entire team are lovely. The food, the service and the atmosphere are unmatched. And the chai tea warms the soul. Thank you. Marilyn &

As an Indian, this is the best Indian food I've tried so far in Pittsburgh. I like that you can customize the spice level, and a 10 is a true 10. Very authentic and delicious food. I reccommend the goat biryani if you like goat, the meat is very tender and tastes fresh.
Vegetarian options: Indian food generally has an extensive list of vegetarian options, and People's does it very well. For a lot of the vegetarian options you get as good of a flavor as you get with meat dishes.

This is a cute place with tiny tables and it can get pretty crowded at lunchtime. I've been to many Indian restaurants around the world and food-wise this ranks in the lower half but I do visit now and then. One of the things I don't like is that it's practically vegetarian and strikes me as the kind of place one's vegan or vegetarian girlfriend might drag a guy to. Perhaps more than half the dishes were vegetarian, with lentils, spinach, peas, sweet potatoes and paneer cheese and such, and there were a couple of dishes with chicken. Fortunately one of those is tandoori chicken, so meat eaters have a least one satisfying dish. But I'd have been happier if there were something like a lamb or beef dish as well. The rice was bland, as was the Nan, and it tasted like the nan was several hours old even though they had just opened. Everything was quite mild and there really wasn't any kind of hot sauce on the condiments/salad station. They had free lemonade, but it tasted to me like just sweet water, maybe with a little powdered instant lemonade mixed in; they had real lemon pieces at the salad station so I squeezed a couple pieces into my glass of water and that tasted quite a bit better. One nice thing is that they have a number of outside tables which are nice if the weather's good.

Ordered takeout; kofta curry, garlic naan, and gobi manchurian. Everything was delicious and we loved the serving sizes. This is going to be my go-to Indian place from now on!

I usually only order one dish, the Chicken Tikka Massala, but it is always delicious.
I really appreciate the customer service as well; I recently had an issue with my order, and someone delivered the correct food to my address. I really appreciate that, as the day I ordered takeout I was feeling sick, and this saved me a drive back.

Coming from the West Coast to a midsize town I was concerned about the Indian food options in Pittsburgh. People has blown me away! The food is authentic, delicious, well-priced and flavorful. You really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. We usually do takeout and I’ve never had any mixup or issues. If you die in the service is very friendly and fast. There’s parking on the side street if there’s none on Penn.
Make sure to sign up for their loyalty program to get discounts and points for your order! we’ve gotten some pretty good deals this way
