One of the only places you can get green papaya salad. And it's very good.

I honestly don't understand how this place has 4.4 stars... I recently ordered here and the service was fine but the food I received was exactly a 2.5 star rating. Firstly, I got a Strawberry Refresher with boba. The drink its self tasted like water mixed with a bit of strawberry puree, but the boba was absolutely disgusting. I love boba and I've tried almost all the boba shops in pittsburgh, so I feel like I have an understanding of what boba is supposed to taste like. The boba tasted burnt and smoky, I have never had boba taste this awful. Plus, I usually get amazing tasting boba for under $6 at other places. It was a bit more expensive here, so I was also expecting the price to match the taste and met my expectations. Other than that the food was just ok, no flavor or spices and the dessert I got was drenched in condensed milk and was overly sweet. I am just disappointed that I spent about $35 on a single meal and the food wasn't worth it at all.

Road trip from Toronto to Pittsburgh. Stayed here for 4 days.My family members were all craving for Pho. Googled the best pho and Pho Van was top of the list.Quiet Easter Sunday in Strip District but not Pho Van.There was lineup outside of the restaurant. In my mind, it’s gotta be good.I went in the restaurant and checked myself in. There were few people waiting before me. Waited almost 25 mins. It’s weird that they didn’t sit us in when there was a table for 4 people.I asked the staff and they said there was one person in front of me.So, it doesn’t make sense to me if you want to sit 1 person at a 4 people table.anyway, that person got another table and I sit at the table which was ready 10 mins ago.————-Pho:It’s very pricy comparing to Toronto (i know I can’t compare but still…). A bowl of Pho cost me $18 USD (~$25 CAD) and it’s only one size.Soup base was nice. No heavy MSG. I ordered eye round pho. Portion was ok (Large size in Toronto), meat portion was just ok. I expected more for this price. The noodle was thinner than Toronto. It was nice.Spring rollIt was delicious. Freshly made. Not those frozen one we have in Toronto. Well done here.————-Overall, it was a nice Pho place to stop bu. It was expensive for Pho. $120 US with tips for 4 bowls of Pho.

The pho here is most definitely a step above your average pho place. Especially coming from an area with a lot of Asian food, this place was super authentic and delicious. I'm not sure why the average rating is 3.8 because this place is so much better than that. On top of that, the KINDNESS of the servers is top notch. On request, they gave us an extra side bowl of the brisket pho-- with broth, noodles, and meat-- for FREE. We were expecting them to charge us at least $5, but no! I wish I was a Pittsburgh local so I could come back here every week. Also, their broth deserves an AWARD on its own! I could tell they make it from scratch. If you're in the area, don't skip this place!

I popped into Pho Van for a quick bite after arriving in Pittsburgh late. Despite the late hour, the staff graciously accommodated me, serving me 30 minutes before closing and even staying open a bit later for me to finish my meal. The decor is what you'd expect from a pho shop--nothing too fancy, but not too divey either. I decided to try the Supreme Pho, which certainly didn't disappoint in terms of quantity and flavor. However, I did notice that the broth could have been hotter upon serving. Additionally, at $19.95, the price felt a bit steep for pho, especially considering the area. While I'm not writing off Pho Van entirely, I'm intrigued to explore other Vietnamese spots in the area. There's always room for comparison, and I'm curious to see what else Pittsburgh has to offer in terms of Vietnamese cuisine.

Hands down the best Pho in the Strip District. Been coming for lunch here for the last two months and it never disappoints.Have tried all the appetizers in different occasions and the flavor is just amazing. I’d recommend the dumplings and the teriyaki chicken. The Brisket Pho is simply delicious and comes in a generous portion, perfect for the cold days that we have been recently having. Will keep on coming here as much as I can!

Delicious pho and other Vietnamese food. A bit pricey. The bathroom could use a bit cleaning or air freshener as the people sitting near it can all smell the odor.

Came in with a group for a late dinner on Monday night and we were seated right away. Our server was polite and attentive. She took our orders promptly and the food was out in about 15 minutes. Two of the group ordered pho- one vegan and one rib eye. I ordered a beef vermicelli bowl. Everything was great. The pho came out steaming hot with all of the toppings to add. The vermicelli bowl was fresh. The vegetables were crunchy, and the crispy pork roll was flavorful. The decor in the space is adorable! Tons of pho puns hanging all around. The restaurant is clean and the staff is friendly. The meal was well worth the money. I'll definitely be back.
