Pink Box is always run by the sweetest staff! I used to get deliveries from them after my sister and I discovered them online, but now it's an extra treat to go in and browse for myself. The staff (including the owner, who seems to be around pretty often!) are all very sweet and knowledgeable about the goods they sell. Visiting their place is a nice boost of serotonin, and I can fill up on their red bean mochi buns and boba tea! I think their tapioca pearls are my favorite out of all the local places I've been to.

All of the bakery items we got were great. The bubble tea was a disappointmemt, though. Had a hard time maneuvering around inside. But still worth it.

I love Pink Box! I try to stop in whenever I'm in Squirrel Hill and stock up on buns. Their hours run a bit later than your average bakery which is always a bonus. I recommend trying the cranberry toast, and the coconut buns are my favorite!Parking: The shop is right on Murray Ave, which is super busy. Finding parking is always a hassle, but it is free.

I don't understand why this store treats customers so rudely and how to keep them in business? Expensive bread with waiters despising your ,Don't mind people experiencing this feeling. Worst store ever, never recommend anyone to come here

Grab a couple of pastries there today! Everything was amazing and super fluffy! I picked up the chicken sausage with green onion pastry, vegetable curry pastry, cheese pastry and coconut pastry. The staff was super friendly too!

~Small shop with a friendly owner who makes many things fresh. They have a nice selection of asian bakery items to choose from. Some traditional sweets plus a wall of airy buns to choose from. There are sweet buns but also a savory bun selection too. They also have a small boba tea menu.~The prices are good and they take multiple forms of payment. Since they are on the main street you have to park on the street or park nearby and walk a little.~Favorite items include: honey tea, taro bun, taro mochi bun, and red bean mochi bun. (mochi buns best eaten warmed)

I went to Pink Box for the first time yesterday & picked up the Taiwanese taro mooncakes ($3/piece, $9/box) & a pineapple coconut bun, my go-to bun when I go to a Chinese/East Asian bakery. The pineapple coconut bun was unordinary, if not disappointing--milk bread surrounding a standard sweetened coconut flake center, with a soggy topping. As for the taro mooncakes, I was upset at how strangely off these were. The filling was sour(?) and the swirly skin/exterior tasted like raw flour. I typically like my desserts to be less sweet, but this was simply not sweet at all. I'm not sure if they were already stale when I bought them, but something was definitely not right about this recipe. For now, I'll keep hoping a quality Asian bakery comes to Pittsburgh.

Pink Box is probably the best Chinese (or East Asian generally) bakery in Pittsburgh. Unfortunately, that's not saying much... If you have a hankering for a soft bun, an egg tart, or puffy white bread, you can satisfy your craving here. Everything has the right sorts of flavors and is perfectly fine. But, it's just not really all that good. Compared to Suzanne's in Millbrae CA, or Chiu Quon in Chicago, the baked goods are just not quite there. The flavor of the custard is too thin, the buns don't quite have the right flavor and moistness.
