Amazing all around! Pasta to die for and a delicious afogato to finish out.

Delicious!
Walked in during a packed lunch and the greeting was a little slow, but once we got seated upstairs? Impeccable from there.
The Stracciatella Salsiccia pizza was wood-fired perfection. Charred on the bottom, pillowy edges, creamy stracciatella, well-seasoned sausage with just a hint of heat, and hot honey that surprised you on every other bite. Came to the table hot and everything worked together beautifully.
Vodka martini was cold and dry with ice crystals at the top. Kettle One, extra olives stuffed with cheese. Done correctly.
The berry cheesecake was homemade and you could tell. Light, almost crumbly, with fresh berry compote on top. Divine.
Service after seating was excellent. Cup never empty, pacing was smooth, server was warm and attentive.
Came with my son. He got a Coke in a glass bottle and was thrilled. We shared the pizza and dessert and left very satisfied.
This is now my go-to spot for bringing people into town. When you need a guaranteed win in Market Square, this is it. 10/10.

We made reservations before a show at the theater. The Calamari was a great starter. The pizza and ravioli were amazing. Our two waitresses were attentive and so fun to talk with during dinner. There was a huge group also being served but we never had to wait for anything.

We had a party of 5 for dinner before seeing Wicked and the place was hopping! Even with a completely full restaurant at 5pm, the staff were all so lovely, fast and helpful. Our server Sarah made great recommendations and she and another server Michelle made sure everything came out quickly. We never felt rushed but were still out in plenty of time to get to the theater. The food was delicious, the in-house made pasta was a hit for everyone and so was the pizza. The only negative was the draft from the windows, which can't be helped since it's an old building. Perfect for a date night or a nice night out with friends, highly recommend.
Really cool place in a prime location. Our waitress was extremely nice and the atmosphere here was very comfortable.
Our table shared apps like the arancini, zucchini fritti, and calamari. All very good except the calamari, it was just OK. Not much flavor and there were several tough pieces.
I ordered the calabrese pizza which had really good flavor. However, the dough was pretty thick and chewy. I confirmed with the waitress if it was neopolitan style and she said yes - but it was poorly executed.
I tried someone else’s ravioli, and it was pretty blah. Texture could’ve improved.
The flavor of the sauces were lacking.
The wine we shared at the table was excellent though. I believe it was the Chianti.

Very slow. Felt like waiter avoided us. Said problem with pasta cooker. Should have told us to make different decisions.
Really really great food and my server Shannon was just amazing. Will definitely be back here!
UPDATE: The food & service here have always been great, though the restaurant is loud and cramped (and either really cold if you're close to the window and it's freezing outside or way too warm).
That being said, we had reservations for dinner for weeks and just one week before the date of our reservation, we were contacted and told that our reservation had been canceled (leaving us just a week to get a reservation elsewhere, though we'd planned well). If there had been a good reason for this change, I'd have never mentioned it in a review. However, I was told that they were closing early that day due to their employee holiday party. This might be an acceptable oversight for a new restaurant, but they've been there for years and the holidays come EVERY year at the same time. I'm very disappointed. It's going to be quite a while before I go back. I'm sure I will at some point (never in December or January, of course, since they might cancel), but this dissapointing customer service situation will take me a bit to move past.
All of us really enjoyed the food and service at Pizzaiolo Primo. I can't believe it's been there for ages & we'd never tried it. We'll definitely return. The menu isn't huge, but there are a lot of great options. Very tight space (a lot like NYC dining) but it's small, so that's understandable and I didn't feel like I was sitting at the table next to us.

As always ... Pizziola is outstanding ... from the truly authentic cuisine to the impeccable service and ambience!! One of our favorite places downtown!!

The food and location were great! Very small/not a lot of seating on the main level, but there is an upstairs that holds more. Ate hear before ice skating at PPG Place.
We dined on Christmas Eve and it was phenomenal! The food, service, and atmosphere were all wonderful. It was our first time there and we can't wait to go back!
The food here was outstanding. But the service was not very good at all. We had to wait almost 20 minutes to place a drink order and we were only one of three parties in at the time. Servers just kept passing our table literally in the middle of the room. I wanted to order more drinks and dessert but it took so long to get the attention of anyone that we decided to pay the tab and go to City Works.
Made a reservation for 18 and made sure they knew it was for a Birthday celebration. Nowhere was I told there would be a 22% gratuity (which I expected to be at least 18%). My issue is that they wanted to charge just shy of $100 to cut the cake. That is ridiculous...I thought there would be maybe a $20 fee, but $5 a person was CRAZY. The entire reason we drove 40 minutes to dine there was to skate around the PPG rink. we ended NOT doing that and heading back to my house to have cake and coffee, and open gifts. My office frequents that restaurant 2 or 3 times a week and will be sure to let everyone know about this.
