the cook we had was terrible did everything backwards messed up the order an was upset because he messed the order up...... handed us our rice bowls with his fingers in the rice... did some rice trick of throwing the rice from one bowl to the other except it was all over his fingers just disgusting waste of 325 bucks terrible experience save your money an drive to cleveland benihanas instead
We had to wait 45 minutes for a chef to cook at our table. Thus was hard as we had a young child getting impatient. Server never asked if we wanted anything more than water and ran past us so fast we couldn't even ask. Then claimed ice cream was on him cause of our wait when that was clearly included in price.
The server (Delanea) was horrible. Dis not explain all the upcharges of our request, never came back to the table to see if we needed refills nor to see if our food was as ordered. Had to go find her to bring out the birthday cake I provided. However, she was obnoxiously standing for payment, while cutting the cake for our guest. . . . The food, which their website states its "under $30" ended up being $45+ per person.. . And it was horrible. . . meaning no flavor, tough meat and very little veggies, which they charged $10 for extra. Cook, no entertainment abilities or personality, which is why you do hibachi meals, especially for a birthday or special occasion. Manager was informed and brought to the table, but all we heard was "okay . . .okay. . . okay" I would not recommend that you spend your time or money for this place!
Six of us dined, including two first time hibachi diners. I felt sorry for them. While the food was good... The show was the weakest I've ever seen.. He literally did two tricks... The onion volcano... And then moved the volcano and made it a choo-choo train. He also had a mask on... Which made it even more difficult to understand him,. Plus it makes you wonder whether he's doing that to protect himself, or whether he's sick while cooking our food. The food itself was good. The flair was extremely underwhelming.
Dine in dinner was awesome, excellent, wonderful and soo soo good!!!! My take out order was awful, terrible, no good. We received only half of what we suppose to get and the total bill was over 64.00. Not up to Benihana standard at all. Very disappointed.
The waitress was very unhelpful and somewhat rude when dealing with allergies which resulted in an uncomfortable experience for my child's health. I have read they will handle allergies well, we ended up having the food cooked in the back but when it was delivered there were three shrimp on a chicken order. This made me doubt their quality control entirely. We have been going here for 20 years, there is a clear change lately the facility is dirty and the food quality has gone down. Sorry to report a bad experience this time around.
I've traveled the world and try out different "Hibachi" style restaurants and I always rate them against this Benihana...for me it's the Gold Standard in Hibachi.
Alex was a great chef. Our food was delicious and my son, who likes his steak rare, said it was the best he's ever had there. May not sound like much until you realize he's been going there about 6 times a year for about 20 years.
The restaurant is clearly getting dated, but we always enjoy the experience. An all inclusive feel to the package is appreciated and staff, while stretched does best to please everyone.
You get more than a thin slice of zuchinni but you can't substitute veggies for rice anymore. We can't eat carbs so not sure if we'll go back. We didn't want the rice and had to pay extra for the extra veggies. The food tasted delicious

A great overall hibachi experience: delicious soup, salad with ginger dressing, quality proteins and vegetables! The only Benihana in the Pittsburgh region and the interior and exterior have been updated in last few years. Pricing is getting a little crazy, especially for the fried rice upgrades on your meal.
Nice dinner celebrating several birthdays. Food was delicious and chef was super nice and just the right amount of conversation. Appreciated his accommodation to a couple diners with food sensitivities. Cost was a bit pricey but quality was excellent, portions good and service great. No complaints and looking forward to returning.
We all enjoyed our meal. Our chef and waitstaff were professional. Unfortunately, we were seated in an area with many children around - not enjoyable. Terrible acoustics as far as screaming toddlers goes. We do not fault the restaurant for this...just don't think this is a venue for babies and small children.
I brought five children anf did not drink. $300 including tip. Too expensive! Service was very slow. Waitress disappesred. When I got up to look for our waitress, she was sitting at a table with 3 other employees. She brought the kids their ice cream whike all the dishes were still in front of them. I tipped $50 cash to waitress and $10 to chef. I hope she shared with person who had to clean our table. No birthday treat... and I had to ask for a photo. My nephew had the top half of his head cut off in photo.
Visited last night and although a frequent patron this was one of the worst experiences there. The prives seem to go up on every visit and the food is inconsistent. Our food was greasy and tasted like burnt oil. The chef continuously was scraping the grill and the black grease into his container as he cooked. Very unappetizing and the taste of the food reflected it. You also need to change your price range on your advertisement as there is NO MEAL under 30.00. Even the hibachi shrimp is now 31.50 with fried rice (White rice, a few vegetables, burnt egg and some chicken) 6.50 for a small bowl. There were 3 chefs for a packed house and although we were there early many tables waited a long time for their food. I used to consider this the premier hibachi in Pittsburgh but that is no longer. I expected much better for the price.
