Food was good and they were open with no wait after a late concert at Heinz Hall. The fish sandwich was HUGE. I’d likely try other places before going here again but I also wouldn’t have a problem eating here again.

Honestly I liked this restaurant, we came for a quick bite, our server was really sweet and attended us well. We ordered the nachos as an appetizer. I ordered a cheeseburger and fries as main and my partner ordered their pasta. I couldn’t even finish half of the burger and barely touched my fries because I started to feel weird. My partner didn’t finish his meal either because he started to feel weird as well. About two hours after we ate at that restaurant I got food poisoning and so did my partner. I was so sick and will never be going back because of that. Do not order any of those items there if you go or their pasta.

Came in a few days ago and had Amy as our bartender. She’s an absolute gem of a human and gives the best service. She really made our experience great. Thanks Amy! We’ll be back.

Good food. Great service. Was in from out of town and they put the Michigan basketball game on for my friend and I. Jenna, Alyssa and Brent were all great and welcoming. I'd be a regular if I lived in town.

Went in there sunday night & had the worst experience. The Bartender, I believe her name was Danielle, was nodding out behind the bar. She was so high she couldn’t keep her eyes open during small tasks like taking orders and making drinks. She took our order and rung in something completely different. When the food came out she proceeded to tell me I was wrong & that she couldn’t do anything to fix it since the kitchen is now closed. Ridiculous experience, will not be back until staff is sober, capable, & functioning.

Awesome place, Great food and cold beer. Treated this Dolphins fan from Canada like gold even before the Monday Nighter.

Very disappointed in the service at this establishment. In an empty bar they refused to change the station to a desired football game. They also are unable to accommodate appropriate seating for someone who is currently injured and unable to sit at a seat without a back, when the proper chair would have been available. My group and I left due to service that was not even up to the smallest standard of what a bar should represent.

Came down to Pittsburgh from Canada for a Pitt game this past weekend, went to Redbeard’s at 10pm for some food and drinks. Did not disappoint! Lots of TVs to watch sports on, chicken wings were large and they have tons of sauces and rubs to choose from. They have plenty of great local beers on tap, had a blast trying a whole bunch of them. Food came out pretty quick, and service was amazing! I highly recommend, and will definitely be stopping by if I ever end up in Pittsburgh again!

I rarely write restaurant reviews, but I feel strongly enough about this experience that I felt compelled to share it. My husband and I are from New York, but as Pittsburgh fans, we traveled to the city to watch some Penguins hockey. We chose this establishment because it appeared to offer good food, drinks, and a welcoming atmosphere—but unfortunately, that was not the case.
After ordering a round of drinks and an order of wings, we settled in to watch the Pittsburgh Penguins game. However, midway through the first period, we realized the audio playing throughout the bar was for a Texas football game—not the hometown hockey game. Considering that most of the patrons were wearing Pittsburgh gear, I assumed it would be reasonable to request that the sound be switched to the Penguins game.
When I asked the bartender, she kindly explained that she would need to check with the manager. I decided to speak to him directly and politely asked if the volume could be changed to the Penguins game. I was told that the bar was “advertising as a football bar for Thanksgiving weekend,” and therefore my request would not be accommodated. Another guest even called out in support of playing the Penguins audio, but we were completely ignored.
I asked a second time, noting that the majority of customers appeared to be watching the hockey game, and that—being in Pittsburgh—it seemed appropriate to play the hometown team's audio. The manager responded in an unexpectedly disrespectful manner, unlike anything I’ve experienced at any bar or restaurant.
I do want to acknowledge the two blonde female bartenders, who were wonderful and sincerely apologetic. Despite their kindness, we chose to cancel our second food order and head to another bar—one that was more than willing to play the sound for a Pittsburgh game in Pittsburgh.
Unfortunately, based on this experience, we will not be returning and advise any Pittsburgh fan to do the same. Major thumbs down for the manager. 👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼

When we first walked in to be seated we waited and was walked to our table but some girl who came in by the time they were ready to seat us stole our table which was weird..
Got the wings-they were super over cooked and flavorless.
Boyfriend got the fish sandwich-needed some salt but was okay. I thought I remembered it coming with a slice of lemon but that was the location on mount Washington…
Hopefully the lady who got our leftovers on the street liked our food more than we did.

When my husband and I couldn't get into another restaurant, we looked for a different place who wasn't full before our show. We stumbled upon Redbeards and figured we would give them a try. Best decision! We weren't in the mood for anything particular and were sat right away. The hostess was very pleasant and welcoming and cleaned up a table for us in no time. I got the turkey wrap with fries (amazing smoky taste and the fry season was top notch) and my husband got the Steak meal. *I can't remember what it was called exactly* The steak was just a little over cooked *med-well, instead of med* but he said it was still juicy. The baked potato was the size of your face and veggies for his sides! He definitely enjoyed it all! Our waitress was very nice, sorry I don't remember her name but she was blonde, and very polite! There was also a very nice gentleman who was also with the hostess, he had glasses, who was also checked on us and said goodnight when we left. The whole place was clean, bathroom too, and everyone we met was kind. I will definitely keep this place on my radar for whenever I'm Downtown for a show!! Keep up the good work Redbeard!

We came to Redbeard’s during Picklesburg and had the pleasure of meeting Amy at the upstairs bar.
What a great time! She was attentive, friendly and gave us great recommendations. Now we only come here when we know she will be working.
You guys got a good one!
