Server really had a lack of politeness and self awareness for his rude comments. The food was just ok. Veal was a bit tough but tasted pretty good. They messed up the cooking of steak two times which was really bad on such a basic thing, especially when it was sent back the first time you'd think they would make sure to get it right the second time.

Rico's has old-world charm and delicious food. The crabmeat Hoelzel is a favorite of mine, and their pastas are perfectly prepared. Advice about wine, recommendations, and just a friendly chat with the staff are all part of the experience. The events manager and staff are amazing. Try Rico's; you'll love it.

5 Stars – All Around Awesome!
I recently had the pleasure of enjoying lunch for the very first time at Rico’s Restaurant, and I can confidently say it deserves a solid 5 stars across the board. This beloved establishment has been a Pittsburgh staple since the 1970s, with a rich history and loyal following. It’s a favorite among locals and has long attracted notable guests including Steelers legend Franco Harris and wrestling icon Bruno Sammartino, both of whom considered Rico’s their favorite go to restaurant.
From the moment we walked in, the ambiance struck the perfect balance between upscale and relaxed. I’d describe it as casual to fine dining, with spacious, elegant rooms that can easily accommodate everything from intimate meals to wedding receptions and large private events. Everything about the interior from the dining areas to the modern, spotless restrooms, was impeccably clean and thoughtfully maintained.
The service was absolutely top notch. Our server Jay, who was also handling the bar, was prompt, personable, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. He made our dining experience seamless and enjoyable.
Now for the real highlight: the food. Every dish we tried was excellent. Our entrées included:
• Walleye Pike Belle Meunière topped with crab meat and served with a lemon leek sauce, a side of green beans and marinara and a cup of their asparagus and fontinella cheese soup
• Broiled Salmon Piccata with lemon caper sauce and sautéed spinach
• Broiled Virginia Spots, a simple but perfectly prepared classic
Each entrée was flavorful, well executed, and beautifully presented. We also had fresh salads with their house made Italian dressing, which was so good I genuinely wish I could have taken a bottle home.
To finish off the meal, I had a slice of their coconut cream pie, which was the perfect sweet ending, light, creamy, and delicious.
Everything from start to finish was outstanding, and I honestly just wish I lived closer because I’d be a regular here. If you’re in the Pittsburgh area and looking for excellent Italian cuisine or simply an exceptional dining experience, Rico’s Restaurant is an absolute must.
5 stars, without hesitation. Truly all around awesome!

My mother's retirement celebration was just held at Rico's, and it was fantastic! Everything was better than we could have imagined from beginning to end. The private party space was really lovely and created the ideal ambiance for our celebration. The cuisine was delicious, fresh, and tastefully prepared; it was simply amazing. The level of service was exceptional. The evening was made extra special by David, Red, and Brian's concern and hospitality, which went above and above to ensure everyone was taken care of. Our friends were blown away, and my whole family was overjoyed.
Rico's is the place to go if you want an amazing venue for an occasion or just want to eat delicious food. I am eager to return. Strongly advised!

One our favorite restaurants!
Hasnt changed in years...
Great food, good value....never disappoints.
Waitress didn’t put our tables food order in & we had to wait a significant time for food. No compensation was offered even though ithe six other tables ithat arrived after us were eating prior to our food was delivered. Not acceptable. Poor business practice.
Very nice Italian restaurant.
Charged $6 upcharge for two tablespoons of Roquefort dressing. Waitress didn't mention the upcharge on a $3.50 salad, upcharge almost double. And they charged $10.50 instead of the $9.50. Manager would not correct brought over a menu and showed it on the menu. WHAT AN AWFUL WAY TO EXTRACT MONEY FROM YOUR CUSTOMERS!
