I’ve always heard awesome things about Rico’s - finally had a chance to try it out. The parking is valet only. The scenery was nice, the large windows and fall foliage creates a nice atmosphere. My spouse and I had a limited window of time to enjoy our meal as we were heading to a show at Heinz Hall so we didn’t have time for appetizers or dessert. Our waitress started out very friendly but when she identified that we weren’t ordering alcohol, appetizers or extra things outside our meals the service immediately declined. The food was excellent, we both got pasta dishes that were incredible and that’s the main reason we’d consider going back. As the meal progressed we watched our server take care of all other tables very fondly and we didn’t even get water glasses refilled or asked if we wanted dessert or anything else. We still had a decently priced meal and left a nice tip but i’d prepare for very mediocre service if you aren’t looking to have an over the top meal.

Food and service was very good, portions are excellent. One option the restaurant should consider is allowing pasta as a side dish rather than a baked potato.

Rico's Restaurant is a Pittsburgh staple. It's been around for over 40 years and has an almost cult following, bringing guests back again and again to experience the classiness of old-fashioned upscale dining. The atmosphere is cozy. When you arrive, valet parking will manage your car. I recommend dressing nicely to accompany the atmosphere of the restaurant.

The food is really good! Don't expect anything untraditional or experimental, though. The restaurant excels in classic Italian dishes and I highly recommend the Lobster Rubino or Rico’s Famous Angel Hair. The menu does change daily though and there is always a variety of foods to choose from!

In terms of service, you will definitely have a wonderful experience. The staff is very attentive and highly trained. This restaurant is suitable for any group. The bar service is nice as well. Just remember to make a reservation if you're a large group!

My favorite place to eat! The food is incredible every time — some of my favorites include: the stuffed shrimp, Rico’s angel hair, fried zucchini, and the Roquefort filet. The service is always wonderful, they treat women with such respect and care, and the ambiance is warm and inviting. Great wines and an amazing table-side Caesar salad make it even better. Truly the best Italian and steak spot around!

Probably the most unique restaurant in Pittsburgh . The entire menu is excellent! Just get there and you will rave about the place thereafter.

If you have a hard time finding the restaurant keep driving, Bravo's is around the corner and you will get better Italian food. The only positive experience we had was Dave the Maître D' . He was friendly and professional. We have been wanting to go here since we moved to Pittsburgh, seven years ago, what a disappointment. We stopped in the bar first to a very unfriendly bartender and a lousy wine list.
Dave got our table ready for us pretty quickly and then everything went downhill from there. Our waiter came over and announced right away that he would give us menus but wouldn't be back for a while because he had a 10 top to attend to. My husband asked for a wine list while we were waiting but didn't get that until the server came back. I was shocked that I didn't see anything on the menu Italian base that impressed me, my husband asked if they had a Bolognese or carbonara. The response was yes, we have Bolognese it's a meat sauce. I commented did it cook for 3 days? If not it's not a real Bolognese I am a Bolognese snob). We ordered our wine and a cucumber onion salad each, the salad was okay but two vinegary so I asked for olive oil which I never received. We did get bread with butter packets, even though every other table had a silver container that had something else to go with the bread we didn't get that. When it was time to order I ordered the Spinach Mozzarella Arancini, the waiter corrected me, to tell me it wasn't an entree (something I already knew), I informed him that I also wanted a side of angel hair pasta. My husband ordered the Veal Parmesan, his side choice was buttered cauliflower or baked potato (odd side choice for an Italian restaurant). He got the cauliflower. My Arancini was delicious, the pasta was bland, his veal over cooked and the cauliflower was mushy. My husband asked for a new dish of cauliflower and was told it was all the same in the steam table, ie: over cooked in a steamer. The owner came to our table during dinner but didn't ask if we were enjoying our meals, he asked my husband if he was staying out of trouble, odd thing to say to a customer you don't know. In the end we told the server that we were not impressed, Dave had the entrees taken off our bill. The server informed us that this was the first complaint he had in the year & a half since he started working there, hard to believe. So here's a few of my recommendation for Excellent Italian food. Pino's in Point Breeze, Aqua Pazzo or Alberini's in Boardman OH.
Bon Appetito

We had a get together of 20 former coworkers there. Booking was welcomed by the manager. He guided us to make things easy. Food was the finest. Wait staff kind and attentive. The restaurant is beautiful. Plenty of parking, beautiful view, perfect t in every way. Even the bartender took good care of us as we arrived. Received many compliments from attendees. Thank you, RICO'S!!!

Came for the first time today as we moved right down the street. We were so pleasantly surprised by the whole experience. The restaurant gives off a very elegant vibe but the staff is warm and friendly. The manager was very involved and hands-on, always checking in and circling visiting tables. The filet is genuinely the most tender steak I've ever had. The scallop appetizer was also fantastic. The literal only critique I could make is that there is a $2 up charge for an extra sear on the steak, which is a bit bizarre. However otherwise I felt the menu prices were on par with the quality. We'll definitely be back.
