Ordered the Rival Cheesesteak. Very disappointing. Hardly any cheese. It arrived cold and the bun was dry/stale and about the size of a PNC Park hot dog bun.

New concept from Walnut Grill owners..inside is a fun looking sports bar. Sadly the portions are small with hardly no meat on the sandwiches. We got a steak wrap and chicken avocado club both come with fries. The chicken only filled one side of the hotdog sized bun and the avocado was barely there, as for the wrap it was missing the steak. Not a place to come if you want portion to price, most everything on the menu is 15$ and up. Most drinks run 8$ and up.
Won't be rushing back.

Sports bar. Happy hour on Weds afternoon. Not very busy, sat at bar. Bartender was great, Cucumber Martini on special was very tasty.
Shotgun shrimp app was awesome. Came with slaw that paired very well with shrimp/sauce.
Cheese steak on special that day. Was very avg. Meat did not fill the bun. Tasted avg. Would not order again. Ordered onion rings as side...got fries. Eventually brought onion rings....that were all stuck together in one huge conglomeration. Fries were very good, though.

Ordered Mac n cheese bites, menu changed so they couldn’t do jalapeno popper dip… got the chicken avocado club and the Cesar salad. Mac n cheese tastes like kraft with breading. Daughter enjoyed the club and my salad for $16 was lack luster. I think they fried the chicken pieces and was placed in styrofoam.

The food is good! Simple. Delicious. But the thing that stands out the most is the staff. Every single person is SO happy, kind, and just makes you feel at home. Awesome place.

I loved the food and the service. Jessica was very attentive and knowledgeable. I wasn't thrilled that they surcharge credit card payments, but it seems to be the state of things these days. The brownie dessert was phenomenal.

Nice meal. New server, but polite and trying. It was trivia night. Nice set up, but no 5 or 10 minute warning it was about start.

Welp as a cook, I could tell they left the shrimp out to long before cooking it because fried shrimp should never be soggy. The cheese dip that came with the chips was burnt but glad the manager took it off. The strawberry daiquiris tasted like everything but. The pretzels was good along with the cheesestake.

Stopped in for a IC Light draft on a Saturday afternoon, keg empty, settled for a Coors Light, one warm beer, keg empty, person next to us, Blue Moon, 1/2 of a glass, keg empty. Maybe why very few people were sitting at the bar. Definitely not your place to go for a good cold draft. You think someone would know to check/tilt the barrel a little to estimate how much is in it. Better yet, have back up's available.

Absolutely fantastic experience! Rival is a true gem in the Fox Chapel area — stylish, clean, and welcoming from the moment you walk in. The staff are incredibly professional, friendly, and attentive to every detail. The food and drinks are top-notch — beautifully presented and full of flavor. You can really feel the quality and care in everything they do. Whether you’re here for a casual night out or a special occasion, Rival delivers every time. Highly recommend this place to anyone in Pittsburgh looking for a great vibe and outstanding service!

We’ve ordered from here numerous times usually good. To food was dry hard portions half the size and forgot my sides won’t be going back again

Visited on a college football Saturday afternoon, and I must say they’ve got plenty of BIG screen TVs to watch whatever the heck is being televised. I only had an appetizer, so can’t comment on the larger menu, but the cheese fries weren’t bad. The beer selection is pretty decent too, with several local craft brews on tap - nice! An upscale sports bar is what you’ll find here.
