Service was slow. Portions were way too much carb, not enough protein. And the wait staff simply did not know the menu or how to serve.

Great location, service was reasonable, food was good enough but seems to have been overpriced for what we got. Overall a good experience but not one I would drive far out of my way to get again. If either the price were lower or the food were better, I could have increased my ranking.

Was in town on business...stopped in for a late night dinner. Staff was friendly, efficient, and made dining a pleasure. Scallops and risotto were amazing and the Filet was perfect. Will definitely stop in again the next time I'm in Pittsburgh.

Just had a great evening at Scarpino’s in Pittsburgh, PA! The food was very delicious. My brother and I shared the chicken parmesan and really enjoyed it. It was really well done all around. We also had calamari, which was good, and I sampled some chicken piccata that was equally scrumptious. The prices felt fair and the atmosphere was very pleasant. It felt classy but not elite, which is perfect.Perhaps the highlight of our Scarpino’s experience was the excellent service; our server, Dana, did a fabulous job. At times, it feels that customer service is lacking in this day and age. People often seem so stressed and bored with their jobs. But Dana was a real treat. She was full of energy, prompt, attentive, and just very sweet. I would come back to Scarpino’s just to be waited on by her again. The hostess was efficient too. Props to Scarpino’s staff for an outstanding job.To summarize, the flavorful food, attractive atmosphere, and splendid service made Scarpino’s in Pittsburgh a real treat. We will definitely return when in the ‘Burgh in the future.Dietary restrictions: Very accommodating of allergies.
The people were nice but I’m sorry the food is just not

Scarpino was very good. We had zucchini appetizer & pizza. Server was very attentive. I like the size of the pizza as 2 people can handle & no leftovers if going to the theater.

My wife and I came here for dinner . We were happy that there were seats at the bar since we did not have a reservation. Very disappointed how a nice restaurant like this was out of multiple bourbons and didn't even carry Kettle One for my wife's martini. The bartender Lauren informed us that management only orders a select few liquor choices at a time . However not even carrying Kettle One is a poor choice on management especially it being the weekend. We didn't let the lack of alcohol choices ruin our evening but we had to ask the other bartender to remake our drinks because our old fashioned and martini were undrinkable. We then ordered a scarpino salad which took 20 mins to arrive and as soon as we received it our entrees came. Our pizza was probably one of the best we have eaten in Pittsburgh. Other than that we enjoyed our time together. Next time we will make sure to grab drinks somewhere else beforehand.

Visiting for a conference and made an unfortunate choice. The food was average with small portions at a high price. Service was really slow and food took over an hour to show up to the table. Unfortunately they overbooked the restaurant and that caused the service and food to be less than desirable.
The food had its merits, but the pasta was excessively al dente (cooked pasta should not crunch). While the drinks were impressive, the service left much to be desired with its slow pace. Regrettably, our decision to seek better service and have more drinks elsewhere cost them potential revenue. The understaffing was evident in the absent, slow, and seemingly overwhelmed wait staff. Ultimately, the slightly better-than-average food was overshadowed by the disappointing service, making me hesitant to recommend this place to visiting guests.

Service agonizingly slow. Took half an hour just to get water after we were seated. Food okay but cream was added to several dishes where cream is not traditionally part of the preparation. Chicken piccata, for example, was loaded with cream when it's usually finished with Lemon/butter/capers. An unwelcome surprise for any diner who normally stays away from dishes containing a lot of lactose.
