Truly one of the best hidden gems that I hope doesn't stay hidden. I'd give 6 stars if I could. The food was absolutely terrific, we tried multiple meals, an app and a side. It was filling, flavorful and fresh. The food came out quickly and was perfect. We didn't realize they had cocktails which was a happy surprise and delightful. Will be back!

Went here with three non-vegans. Got roti with curried chickpeas, stewed soya, and pumpkin, and it was sooooo good! And big, I took half home for tomorrow's lunch. One person got a rice bowl with black rice, spinach, pumpkin, and I think chickpeas, he really liked it. Another of us really enjoyed the fried oyster mushroom sandwich, and the last person said his oyster mushroom "wangs" were "ok"...but I take that with a grain of salt because that's what he says about almost everything. The real surprise was the sea moss smoothie - we weren't sure what to expect, but it was sooooo delicious! Reminiscent of egg nog, but not quite. Definitely hope to hit this place again next time I'm in PGH!

GO. GO NOW!!! Seriously. The food is unbelievable, all of it! Everything from the specialty drinks, all the entrees, sides, and even the condiments! The "wangzzz" are seriously maybe my favorite food item in Pittsburgh. It's a small dining space, but all the food is just as good to-go, so any way you consume it, you can't go wrong!

I've lived about a mile from this place for the past three years and only started going here the past few months after finding it on Google. I don't regret anything in life, but I would now say I regret the two plus years I could have been eating here!! Lol

It's so good, such quality soul food that makes me feel like it's a homecooked meal every time... I guess because it technically is. Couldn't recommend enough!!

Vegetarian options: Vegan!!

Dietary restrictions: Vegan

Kid-friendliness: For sure very friendly environment

Wheelchair accessibility: There is one step into the building which could cause it to be difficult to get up with a wheelchair but they do have take out and I could be wrong, but they might have outdoor seating.

Everything was excellent. Oyster mushroom sandwich was crispy and delicious and the chickpea roti with mayo dipping sauce was amazing. Can't wait to go back.

I love places like ShadoBeni. The service was so quick, the food was delicious, it was incredibly clean, and very affordably priced. If you go on the weekend, get the 'doubles'. I've never had anything like it. Little wraps, resembling something like a taco, topped with chickpeas and shredded cucumber. I had the roti with okra, spinach, and soya. My wife had a bowl with pumpkin, okra, and spinach. We loved them both so much. Very filling and nutritious.

This was my first time trying Trinidadian cuisine and OMG!! I knew from the moment that I walked in to order, that my food was going to be good just by how I was greeted and given menu suggestions. Definitely a 10/10 and will definitely be back!

I would eat here everyday if I could. The food is so so delicious, the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, and the cozy atmosphere tops it off for me. We got the buss up shut with curry chickpeas and potato, pumpkin, and spinach with mango chutney. Wow. The combo is perfect but the spinach was the absolute highlight. Tamarind ginger drink was excellent, and so was the passion fruit smoothie. Nothing was too sweet and everything with some nuance. Seriously need to go back ASAP

We stopped in to try a few things and were blown away. The food is amazing. The crispy oyster mushroom sandwich is the perfect texture and so full of flavor. The coconut rice was great. The staff was also so knowledgeable and kind. We would definitely be back.
