It was my first time…absolutely wonderful experience!! Casey was our server…he was great! Such an awesome personality! The shazam shrimp was delicious, french fries and mushroom swiss burger outstanding!

My go-to order are the chicken tenders with general Tso's sauce and fries, but I have also tried their pizzas (which taste amazing), their shazam shrimp, SHADY STICKS, and their milk and cookie is amazing.

If you are looking for good food, vibes, and desserts then come to Shadygrove. I moved from Pittsburgh, but if I ever came back I will be heading here!

The service is also very friendly and fairly fast.

Great food, took FOREVER and didn’t give napkins or silverware, really loud music but a good layout. Would not suggest weekend dinners.

Whole place just feels like a bar, for example almost all the tables are high tops, but even when we went around 8pm on a Sunday they were still seating minors. They have many tvs streaming whatever Pittsburgh sports are on at the moment. Would not recommend the pretzel appetizer, it was super dry. But had an absolutely fabulous grilled cheese. Menu is huge so I am sure there are some hits and misses, definitely has something for everyone. Open late, street parking is difficult but nearby parking lot and garage is not crazy expensive. I have been there for both dinner and lunch on weekends and there is always a crowd, you could get lucky and get a table or expect a 10-30 minute wait, nothing too crazy, and there is plenty to walk around and see while you wait.

Parking: Limited street parking. Local paid lots/garages are not too expensive.

Kid-friendliness: Mostly high top tables, could be difficult for kids to sit.

Came here with my friend just to try a new place out. They have a huge menu with a lot of selections! Anyone can find something they like here. We split the 12 buffalo wings as an appetizer, which were astounding. For my main, I got the Chipotle BBQ Bacon Burger, which may have been one of the best burgers I’ve ever had at a restaurant. The fries were great as well. The service was perfect. Very prompt, timely, and attentive. Would definitely go here again!!

The service was good and my food was good for the large part. I will say the burger I ordered was plainer than imagined and the fries were very boring and tasted straight from the freezer. It’s mediocre food and is a bit expensive, but they do have options for everyone. My sister loves this place so I may be back.

This was by far the worst dining experience I’ve ever had. The only positive was there’s a lot to do in that area. I would never recommend this place to anyone.

Shady Grove Shadyside brings me back to the summer I worked as an assistant for Franco Doc Harris Jr's council campaign. That summer I took advantage of their half of bottles of wine on Wednesdays. It turns out that they still do that. The salads are still served in a mixing bowl that's as big as my face. I'm just here for the $6 mimosa Sundays and the fries on the salad.

I’ll start by saying our service was great. Waitress was kind and on the ball. The food was good. However, the price is absolutely insane. $17 for 3 shrimp tacos, which was only 6 total pieces of shrimp on tortillas the size of a coaster… is not it. No side or anything else comes with it. (I asked prior to order if it came with a side and figured they’d just be larger tacos for the price). Very steep and unreasonable. Feeling robbed.

Shady Grove is a vaguely confusing space, but keeps it open to a lot of people. The interior and staff very much gives late night dinner/bar spot, the clientele is a range from college kids to older Walnut Street customers, and the menu prices are pretty expensive for what you get. I was pretty happy with our food, our bruschetta was really good, my burger was actually really awesome, and the Caesar salad was huuuuge. However, service was semi-slow, everything was just a little sticky, the lighting was weirdly bright in some spots, and the music was kind of loud for an afternoon. Probably just not my vibe, would be great for a lot of people and probably is fun to drink at!

Our waitress was very kind. She had a good sense of humor. Definitely would go back.

Good place in that area. Quite reasonable in today’s context and has a surprisingly large amount of vegan and vegetarian choices!
