When you think of a dive bar, this is the place I want you to think of. Little hole-in-the-wall place with not a lot of seats, but it was always full.\nThe most amazing thing about Shale's was that when I ordered food, they had a grill outside and a dude just going to town cooking up double cheeseburgers for all the patrons.\nHe was amazing to talk to, and the burgers were excellent.
Shales Cafe no longer offers food we were told, but on a Thursday late afternoon before the Bruce Springsteen concert by 4pm it was standing room only and packed full of fun people! beers $4 each, great music and just step across the street into the PPG Arena. This is a fun place and we will return when we go again to Pittsburgh (we are from Cleveland)
A classic local neighborhood bar that is directly across the street from PPG Arena. The best of both worlds. Check out the upstairs for a little more quiet environment. Friendly for all above 21! Drinks are very reasonable!!
