Heard mixed reviews and went for the first time. The service was absolutely amazing. But the food was trash. We had the fried provolone and artichoke appetizer. Those were actually really good. The Caesar salad was almost a vinaigrette and not a creamy Caesar. Our 2 mains were the pancetta pasta weekly special and the veal picatta. They were so terrible my wife and I both sent our plates back. We didn’t expect to get the the mains for free at all, but the owner came out and actually argued about how they were authentic Italian and we were wrong. Again the service was great, but I wouldn’t recommend the food at all.

Went there only once and will not be going back. They sat us in the bar area, which was very noisy, and the service was incredibly slow. However, our food was delicious.

Lovely local Italian restaurant/bar in Plum. The drinks were excellent, our waitress was attentive and the Pasta Giuseppe was fresh and delicious. We ate later in the evening-like 8pm but everything was still bustling and the food came in a good amount of time. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming with big tables of families still gathered for dinner. The prices were to be expected-nothing shocking. Great new place in Plum!

👏👏 All around FANTASTIC!! Atmosphere has numerous personal genuine touches!!! The food is at home cooking, simply REAL GOOD food!!! Staff is excellent!! Our server was Delaney, we baptized her DELANIE 😉, She is friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable of the menu items and made us feel very comfortable!!
We were honored to meet Chef Francesco....he created a very delicious special dish for our friend. It was a special evening with long time friends, who are more like our family, reminiscing of good old days many years ago!! We will be returning very soon 😉👏👏

A Taste of Italy in Plum – Shrodi’s is a Must-Try!
Shrodi’s - Cucina di Maria delivers an authentic Italian dining experience that’s right up there with the Pittsburgh elite.
Now, let’s talk about the food—absolutely incredible! The spaghetti and meatballs in Sunday sauce is a delicious classic. The pasta is perfectly cooked, the meatballs are tender and full of flavor, and the Sunday sauce? Rich, slow-cooked perfection with just the right balance of sweetness and tang (and delicious sausage). Every bite transports you to an old-school Italian kitchen where tradition and love go into every dish.
Then there’s the chicken parmesan—hands down one of the best in Pittsburgh. The chicken is lightly breaded, crispy on the outside, yet juicy and tender on the inside. Topped with just the right amount of melted cheese and marinara sauce, it’s a dish that keeps you coming back for more.
Whether you're a Plum Boro local or just passing through, Shrodi’s is the kind of place that makes you feel like family while serving up some of the best Italian food around. Can’t wait to come back and try more!

One of the most disappointing meals I've had in a long time. It took forever for our food to arrive (almost 2 hours by the time our entrees got there).
For our appetizers we got the romano artichokes which were good, and the fried calimari which was awful. Calimari was drastically overcooked and cold.
The wedding soup and the oil for the bread tasted like sprouted garlic. That very bitter taste when you should have thrown that piece of garlic out but decided to use it anyways.
The chicken piccata was bland and a tiny portion. The pasta with it was undercooked and the sauce had a weird mucusy texture I've never experienced with piccata before. My wife's entree was "fine".
Overall expensive, extremely slow, and either bland or skunky dishes.
The wait staff were apologetic but after 2 hours it would have been nice if someone offered us a free appetizer or dessert.

Before I express my review, I want to say that I think the idea of the Feast of The Seven Fishes was fabulous and from the get-go the food was quite good. We were quite excited to plan and attend what we thought was going to be a unique experience, as part of our holiday celebration for this year. The cost was $110 per person, so it qualified as a special expenditure for our family. Special consideration was given to us to be able to add a child to our party at no charge ,by adding a serving of a plain pasta dish for his main dinner while we shared bites from our specialty plates during the progression of the meal.
Dinner was to commence at 6:00 so we arrived just a few minutes early please make sure we were seated in time. The wait staff, as always, were kind and attentive and we were seated quickly. We were placed in a smaller room just off the front entrance and it was a bit disappointing as there was no decor, no special table settings and no heat. It was their common room with no special touches, warmth or seasonal invitation. There were no silverware settings and we didn't actually get any until after the first course arrived. As I said, we arrived well in time but we received no food until 6:50. Later questions to the server informed us that a number of people who had made reservations iactually did not show up, or call to cancel, so those of us who were on time were made to wait to see if others were going to show up. I get that it was intended to be a family style progression, but seriously? Penalizing your actual clientele in a freezing room may not be the best move.
I can totally recommend the menu choices and most of the execution of the food. It was authentic, well-prepared, interesting and portioned beautifully. Some items were a little under seasoned (with no salt and pepper on the table)and servers did not offer grated cheese and had to be asked to provide that and bread for the table, but that oversight appeared to be more a matter of servers not being informed that those touches would have been appropriate for the significance of the meal itself. A lady who appeared to be an owner came around with a Christmas Witch who gave out hard candy to guests. ???
I will always recommend Schrodi's for their food and service. They have wonderful standards in their regular business and it has always been a pleasure to be their customer. Unfortunately I would have to give this Holiday venture a bit of a fail, and it pains me to do so. The price tag was steep for an anticipated experience that was not what it could have been with just a little more thought and preparation

Food was delicious
We had a small issue with one of the dishes but they took care of it immediately. The real star was our server Nina. She was so attentive and immediately picked up on my food allergies. She was so careful to check with me to avoid any problems. I really appreciate her caring attitude. She was also funny and on top of our needs. We look forward to going back again soon.

The wine list should reflect its $40 filet mignon dish and other more expensive dishes. The wines listed when we visited yesterday are great for spaghetti and meatballs.
The interior, especially walls, could use interior decorating.

A few friend and myself tried Shrodi’s for the first time a few days ago. After hearing many different people’s opinions of good and bad we decided to give them a try for ourselves. All 4 of use were extremely satisfying. The service was great and quick. The food came out in a timely manner and every dish we had was perfect. Great quality, amazing flavor, good portion size and piping hot. We were seated in the bar and it was on the loud side. I’m sure the upstairs restaurant part would not be like this. Desserts were also very good. I’m looking forward to the next opportunity we have to go back. I will be getting the chicken Romano for sure. I feel you will be very pleased with Shridi’s cucina di maria.
