Ordered takeout that was 75 bucks with tip for two entrees and an appetizer. Portions were insanely small for the 20 dollar price tag (15 for the bok choy appetizer that was six sad wet leaves rolling around a plastic container), and the food was extremely mid. Not authentic Korean by any means and really greasy. I’d have been okay with it if it was like a 14 dollar bowl from one of those “bowl” chains that gives you a ton of mid food, but I’d avoid this spot if you’re looking for something actually good. At least we can say we tried it.

I ordered pho from here and they gave me the noodles and over cooked meat that I ordered medium rare. I didn’t get any broth at all.

Prices are unduly high and non-alcoholic drinks are a bit lackluster (haven't found an alcoholic one here I'd rave about, either), but the food at Somi is pretty good.

We’ve eaten here probably 20 times over the last couple of years, and after the last 2-3 visits, I’m never ordering from this place again. Even though they were overpriced, I used to religiously order the poke bowls when they still had them (back when they were Federal Galley, before Shaka came to BkSq), my husband always loved the Vietnamese lemongrass bowl– and confirms that the lemongrass bowl is still good!

Beyond that, the quality and selection has fallen down the stairs. Focusing on appetizers that we ordered from the last several visits– summer rolls are always sold out, leaving no options for healthy apps. On one visit, ordered the Korean Veggie Dumplings and a table of 8 or so agreed that they looked beautiful but, incredibly, tasted like nothing at all. The filling just fell out of the dumplings, watery, as if they were boiled rather than steamed and filled up with water. No one could bear to even finish dumpling, they were that bad! Only thing you could taste was the chili oil which isn’t that flavorful at all. On the next visit, ordered the Deconstructed Rangoons– didn’t come as pictured, filling was in a cup instead of spread over the deconstructed wontons. This is noteworthy because the filling is SO hard that even with a fork it was difficult to spread it onto the brittle wontons. Even the wonton chips were cold like they came out of a fridge already prepped. Regular Rangoons aren’t served ice cold, why should the deconstructed version be served ice cold? Cold fried wonton chips are saturated in fat, just like regular hot Rangoon wontons, it’s just that the fat isn’t as liquid as in the hot Rangoon wonton version– which is a bit gross. Didn’t sit well in our stomachs either. And finally, most recently we got the Bulgogi egg rolls which were essentially just ground beef tossed in sauce as filling, which just feels lazy– even regular Chinese egg rolls have cabbage as well. They could’ve done with something in addition to the meat or at least better meat than ground beef… at least use chipped beef or something you can reasonably marinate.

Long story short, the quality and selection at Somi is quite mediocre, especially for the price point!

I've been here a handful of times and it is consistently top notch asian comfort food. Vietnamese lemongrass noodles is light and flavorful. The bulgogi beef bibimbap is packed with fresh flavors and perfect rice and pickled vegetables. Good portion sizes. Prices are comparable to the other city kitchen restaurants (about $17-19 for these bowls)

Loud environment for old folks like me (67years). Food was decent. Service was excellent ---friendly, helpful folks. No place on smart phone order page to indicate food allergies.

Vegetarian options: I had to ask about dairy-free options due to dairy allergy.

Outstanding unique food with impressive diversity. Definitely an inviting and inspiring cross-cultural hub. Predicting that this will be the place launching new food trends and setting the bar.

Vegetarian options: The whole suite of restaurants covers the scope and scale of any palate. Vegetarian, comfort food, Italian—the city square venues are like going on a food tour!

sneaky owners, sneaky staff. If you want real Asian cuisine look elsewhere. I'll never support a business that undermines and uproots the very foundation that got them where they are.

I've tried this place twice. This food is.. not good. This last time I threw almost my whole meal away which is sad because it wasn't cheap. Clearly not much effort put into their stuff. The $21 poke bowl was so bland even salt and seasonings couldn't help it and the tuna was definitely off. Soggy fries with too much sauce.. Had I eaten it there I would have asked for a refund but I took it to go and was disappointed at home and left hungry. Won't be going back. Thankfully, my girlfriend ordered from one of the other restaurants (Revival, I think. It was a newer one) and shared hers with me. It was better, but the bar was set pretty low. I used to be a fan of the galley concepts, but it seems they're just throwing in places that can put food out fast and there are plenty of those that do it way better. McDonald's, or panda express, for example..

I recently dined at Somi Restaurant and I must say, I was thoroughly impressed! The atmosphere was lovely and the staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. But what really blew me away was the food - specifically, the poke nachos and spicy ramen stir fry.The flavors in the dish were expertly balanced and the spiciness level was just right for me. The noodles were perfectly cooked and the vegetables added a nice crunch and freshness to the dish. It was an explosion of flavors in every bite and I couldn't get enough!I highly recommend Somi Restaurant to anyone who appreciates delicious food and great service. I can't wait to come back and try more of their menu items!

2nd trip, and I am so disappointed with both the customer service, and food.... very inconsistent between first and second trip. I ordered general tso, but asked for noodles, since I don't eat rice, and was told that extra on protein is not available, but was charged five bucks for a pittyful portion, it appears that I was given one portion, and it was split into two....and it was dry!!!
