Yup place obviously got nailed on a super nice day, clearly they were not expecting a weekend rush during the first nice day of the year, 75 degrees, sunny pirates game, why would anyone want to drink outside? Ha these guys are complete jokers. Took me 2x the amount of time to get a seat. Then we ordered as soon as we sat down, as we were about to eat our own fingers off we were so hungry. Thank god I got my food 1:15 later. We knew there was a problem when the people next to us cancelled their food. As soon as they did they brought 1 single meal out for a table of 8. Like. Said jokes mate, jokes.

This bar has never faced adversity or clearly overcome it like the rest of this city has.

These guys aren’t like the Chuck Noll I know who walked into a struggling Steelers franchise in 1969. Swinging in a 1-13 first season. Last night Southern tier had that 1-13 season. Yet Chuck had a disciplined approach, he transformed the team into a dynasty. 4 super bowls, 6 years…come on that’s unheard of. Talk about overcoming adversity. Do I see 4 super bowls for Southern tier? Probably not because they don’t play football, best restaurant in Pittsburgh? Yea when pigs fly.

I love southern tier beer, so I was so excited to try this brewery while I was in Pittsburgh! We went on a night that they had a burger special when we went to order it we were told they were out of that burger special … not sure if they only offer so many a day? The information was unclear. They had no substitution or anything else to offer. The bartender/server was not friendly or helpful. There was a big group of people that were rowdy next to us, so maybe they were getting to the bartender but we were planning to hang out all night, but after the vibes were off with the bartender we left after one beer without trying food. I thought this would be a really great experience and was really looking forward to it. Definitely a letdown. The outside area looks great and perfect for a summer night so I included a photo of that here.

I've been many times over the years, love the beer, service is fine but the food has really fallen off.

I had the chicken sandwich with fries and it was not good. Chicken was absolutely cooked to death, the excessive amount of mayo really didn't improve things, and the fries were cold and dead. The bun being burnt would normally be forgivable, but it all added up to being TERRIBLE! I'd love to know who let that food be sent out as acceptable.

Sadly, I will not be bringing myself or others here if we need to eat, beer only from now on.

Pretty good brewpub. On the larger side like the Victory brewpubs. Good staff. Great beer selection.

I frequent this restaurant often. I came in last week and requested a few items substituted on my salad due to dietary restrictions. Toi ensured that my food came out correctly and didn’t make it seem like I was asking for too much (unlike serves in the past)! Now that’s GREAT service! She also is hilarious and she is a ball of energy! I will be back soon, and I only want Toi as a server moving forward! Thank you again, Toi!

Burgers are great and of course you beat their beers!

I was sadly disappointed in their Stouts. I used to race about them, but they all tasted like too much lactose

I sat at the bar and wanted to grab a bite to eat before going out on the North Shore. The beer and service was great, but I think they should rename their "big ol pastrami sandwich". The price and name were very misleading for what it ended up being.

Great beer selection food is just average.

The beer, as always, is fantastic. The appetizer was fine. I had ordered the chicken sandwich and homemade chips. The chips were saltier than the Dead Sea, totally inedible. The chicken on the sandwich was deep fried to DEATH. Chicken jerkey sandwich maybe. Massively understaffed for a sold out concert night.

First time there from North Carolina to see the Steelers Monday night game. Fantastic place to go anytime but before the game was extremely cool. I recommend to anyone.

This is a great addition to the Southern Tier brand. If you've been to the Southern Tier in Lakewood, Buffalo, and Cleveland, you'll love this location.

The staff, layout of the restaurant, the quality of the beer, the variety of drinks, and the size of the menu are all consistent with the high quality of the Southern Tier brand.

Cheers!
