Had the vegan calzone which was stuffed to the brim with fixings with a hearty marina sauce to go with it. Tofu ricotta was pretty damn good.
The vegan food available here is amazing however the lack of customer service has absolutely turned my family off from ordering from here again. They used to deliver to my area via Uber Eats and now it says unavailable and I see no explanation on their website as to why. They have no phone number and they have ignored both me and my mothers’ emails asking about the situation. Absolutely impossible to get in contact with them which I find so disappointing considering the food is so good.
I ordered two flavors of Seitan wings - Buffalo and Garlic Parmesan. The Buffalo ones were okay, I wouldn’t rave about their buffalo sauce and it tasted like a generic combination of butter and Frank’s red hot. No ranch or blue cheese was included for dipping - kind of a standard to miss. The Garlic Parmesan were extremely disappointing - there was virtually no taste to the sauce beyond butter and were severely under sauced. Both sets of Seitan Wings must’ve been left in the fryer way too long as they were so hard and painful to eat and the ones being under sauced just tasted like a burnt oil.
Also, they’re a pizza shop and have been around a while - they should have a phone you can call. Very unprofessional.
The woman at the register was very nice, the man who gave us our order was stand-offish and could use work on his people skills.
Interior, decorations and displays of awards created a nice atmosphere. I’d rather the time gone into quality recipes though.
For an area dense with places to eat, I would not recommend this joint.
Easily some of my favorite cheese steaks. The wife is vegan and I'm not so we can both get cheese steaks. The seitan ones are delicious.
Really good! Great price! Will be back.
They were the kindest. Even though somebody impersonated them on Yelp and took my order and money, they rushed to replace my order gratis.
The seitan “cheesesteak” is in my top five favorite meals of all time and i’m not even vegetarian. Wow.
We went to Spak's at 815 Saturday night and we ordered the build your own pizza with onions, mushrooms and seitan sausage. The sausage was mild and tasted good. Fresh mushrooms and good cheese and crust. I thought it needed more sauce on the pizza. Overall the pizza was good and that they had seitan was really awesome. The customer service was good as well. She told us it would be ready in an hour allowing us to walk around the neighborhood and go shopping.
Spaks is a legendary food spot in the East Liberty area. Their pizzas are better than their hoagies, and their hoagies are better than their wings, but their steak hoagies are top notch. They make a really great feta and tomato pizza (akin to margherita pizza). The toppings are not super sloppy and soupy like other Pittsburgh pizzas (thank goodness), so if you're looking for a stable middle, this is your go-to spot.
They use cheese that has very low salt content or is salt-free, which is weird, because pizza is supposed to be salty. The cheese has no tang either. It has only a buttery milk-fat taste, which is not what I expect from pizza. The sauce has no taste at all (no salt, no sweetness, no herbs, no tomato taste). If I did not see the red under the cheese, I would say this is just bread with salt-free generic non-Italian cheese on it. The final insult was that I ordered onion on my pizza and it was almost completely absent of onion. There were anywhere from 0 to 2 hair-like slivers per slice. The only thing about this pizza that wasn't wildly confusing and disappointing was the dough, which was acceptable. I cannot believe how bad this was.

Weeknight staple. We love their seitan hoagies and chicken wings. The seitan cheesesteak is my absolute favorite.
Their pizza is hit or miss, but the hoagies have us coming back regularly.
Everybody working in Spak brothers were very nice and accommodating. The wait time was long only because they're so popular. We only got the pizza but that alone was fantastic. So glad i have a place to get tasty vegan pizza for my allergy afflicted kids. We would absolutely come back again
The best grungy pizza place your friend ever told you about, with vegan options, too.
They have lots of delicious seitan options!
Great Vegan options! One of my favorites spots in Pittsburgh!
