Busy on weekends. Good food for the price & friendly service & environment
Dive bar vibe - Dark & Vintage. They're hot cheese balls were pretty good. They were not the best cheese curds that I have ever had, but they were decent. If you like your cheese curds extra cheesy, these are for you. We also got 2 burgers were which were extremely large, & cooked well done which wasn't very good. The fries were subpar and the chips were just plain generic ruffle chips -not made in house or anything. I would have loved another option to not have a side. This place was not super expensive which was cool but probably wouldn't come here again.

Glad to see it’s still open. I used the frequent the SHC back in the 1980s. Thursdays were dollar imports and free peanuts. Lots of shells ended up on the floor. It was my home away from home. I had a t-shirt well into the 1990s. One of my fondest memories of Pittsburgh. Squirrel Hill was a great place to live.

Extremely charming atmosphere and a sophisticated clientele during the day. Directly across from the library, and an excellent spot to read a book while having a pint or eating some of their amazing and affordable food. The bartender Jan felt like family from the moment I walked in.
I hear that it becomes an exciting, upbeat spot at night. I'll need to stop by at night sometime to experience the vibe.
No smoking/vaping inside, but chairs and tables out front with ashtrays, and you can bring your drink with you.

Great price! Can't argue with that price.
Solid burgers, chicken sandwich, cheese sticks and decent fries.
Really cool place if you want to experience that home town bar feel. Very friendly staff and our food came out fast and hot. Fun place to be, and hopping on a Monday night. The food was very good and so was the brew. I suggest you try it.

Same as it was 40 years ago! Revisited recently and this place really needs a radical cleaning!! Burger was decent, bartender okay. Go to Murray Ave. Cafe.

This was an accidental find a few months ago. Truly one of the best burgers I’ve had. French fries are delicious too. And Jan is the best! Came back today just to show the place to our kids! Just a great neighborhood bar!
