I am really confused about the constant menu changes and lack of selection. The hours are always changing. And now i tried to go today for lunch, only to be met by a locked door. Rumor has it, this place is closing for good? For these reasons, I give them 1 star. No consistency.
Remember when miles garret hit mason Rudolph in the head with his own helmet? This is the metaphor I would use to describe steel cactus. I was so excited to eat here then steel cactus took all my happiness and anticipation right from me and hit me in the head with it by providing an underwhelming reduced menu with around 12 items on it. 4 of the items were variation of tortilla chips.
Took an hour and a half to make a few tacos. When the tacos came they were dry as a bone and the sides were cold. When the food came we didn't have silverware or napkins for 20 minutes. Took an extra 30 minutes to get us beer. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. Owner is running this place into the ground and the waitresses are miserable. Even a dude in the bathroom said he's never coming back ???
Ordered chicken and steak fajitas, and mahi tacos for delivery. Delivery came early and that was the highlight of the experience! When opened, the bag contained 1 tiny taco that was so soggy it couldn't even be picked up, (what a value for $6). For the fajitas, the chicken and beef were both burnt and it came with no tortillas, but an abundance of bell peppers and onions. For a whopping total of $35, I feel I was taken advantage of. I'll never order or go here ever again.
Service was terrible. Took 20 minutes to get a drink refill. Asked for a refill of chips and salsa...never got them. Food was good. Server was friendly, just extremely slow. Maybe she was stretched too thin. Would give it another try.
Our Server was Gabrielle and she did a great! Job! Split 5 checks and (and I hate to ever ask for that) smiled the whole time. Thanks Gabrielle. Food was very good but limited menu. Parking Galore!
Tacos were not very good at all. Had beef & chicken on soft shell. Little bit pricey for minimal amount of food given. We were overlooked for service and waited 30 mins for a drink order after I went looking for a mgr to let her know we were sitting there. 3 waitresses were taking care of our surrounding tables but completely ignored us! I will not be going back there to say the least.
I gotta say it, this steel cactus in particular is very good. Try their tacos, they are phenomenal. And their tortilla chips...you just can't stop eating them! They don't have many beers but that's not a problem when their Margaritas are so good!
I never leave reviews no matter how good or bad. This place was so bad it pushed me to the point to leave this review. This place is an absolute joke. This place has gone down hill, bad. The food and the time it took was completely unacceptable, especially for the price! We came a few month's back when the "new menu" came out because we knew the manager who couldn't say enough on how good all the new items were. He is now gone and the place has gone to hell. Food takes forever and is now way over priced. $4 for one taco? No more happy hour food specials? The ownership obliviously doesn't care about staff, quality of food, appearance of the restaurant, or the community, no matter what they say on social media. This place can't close soon enough! January 1st from what a lot of people have been saying.
The waitress was nice. The food was terrible I ordered the vegetarian plate the poblano was still crunchy and raw and caked in raw uncooked flour the cheese was not melted either. The salsa also has a weird Italian flavor going on. The drinks were awesome but wouldn't go back unless it was just for drinks. It was not super busy either so idk why the food was not up to par.

They got the flavors just right without all the heat and spice. Usually, I have to ask for my food to be mild which compromises the taste. Their food was a perfect blend! Definitely going to be a repeat patron.
Our server was lovely. The interior was really interesting and nice. However, the food was not good at all. I had enchiladas, my son had tacos. Neither of us finished even 1/2 and didn't ask for take away boxes. :(
I came here today to eat dinner and have drinks with some friends and had a great time. Our server greeted us quickly and even the manager, Nate, greeted us promptly as well. It was refreshing to see a manager that was so hands on. Our food was running a little long and Nate came out to keep us posted and was very pleasant. Food was great, drinks were cold and we had an amazing time. The open bar and patio added a very nice touch.
Great new addition to Cool Springs, large outdoor/ open air seating
