Sub Zero Nitrogen Ice Cream

Delicious and a pretty cool experience!

Absolutely love this place! The birthday cake flavor was incredible - perfectly creamy with real cake pieces throughout. Watching them make the ice cream with liquid nitrogen right in front of you is mesmerizing and adds such a fun theatrical element to the whole experience.
The texture is unreal - so much smoother and creamier than regular ice cream. You can tell the difference immediately. The staff was super friendly and explained the whole process while they worked their magic with the nitrogen clouds.
East Liberty is lucky to have such a unique spot. The birthday cake flavor tasted exactly like childhood memories but elevated to gourmet level. Will definitely be back to try more flavors - this is now my go-to ice cream spot in Pittsburgh!

Rude, snotty staff that don't understand manners.

I love Subzero!! Brought my daughter & grandaughter (who have been w me before)… also brought my aunt it was her first time. The young man who waited on us was super nice, knowledgeable, patient and great w my granddaughter!! I got the Big Blast (ALWAYS), my granddaughter created her own chocolate concoction, m daughter got the peach tea w boba and my aunt got the Chocolate Conduction! We were all extremely satisfied! Thank you Subzero!!

I honestly didn’t think it’d be worth the hype, but the ice cream was SO good!! I love the ability to customize but not feel overwhelmed by the choices. The whiteboard selections make it easy! The employees are friendly and clearly good at what they do because it is DELICIOUS!

The ice cream was pretty good, although, they did not have what i wanted. I wanted to get nitro breath, didn’t have it. I was like, “Okay, pretty bummy.” But then for my ice cream, i wanted kit kat, did not have it! Plus, took a while because of only one worker? It also took 30 minutes to get here for something i didn’t even want! It was not worth it.

the owner is the sweetest, I really love going here to chat with her and also have some great ice cream that is not too sweet!!! she also offers to make you a new one if you don’t like the flavor, the hospitality is just too good. of course that never happens because there are so many great options! Thank you so much 😇

Ordered the Key Lime and it was absolutely disgusting, it was trashed. The waffle cone was delicious. Will not order that flavor ever again.
