Authentic Korean mom and pop and locally owned. Korean restaurants in Pittsburgh are sparse and Sushi Kim 2 is one of the only Korean restaurants in Da Burgh now. Some of our favorite dishes include the Hwedupbap (sashimi with rice), Galbitang (short rib soup), and Soondubu (spicy tofu stew). And it’s BYOB- having a bite of sashimi complemented by a sip of soju takes it to the next level! Highly recommend.

Service was lacking food was nothing special. Waiter told me to scan barcode and order online, and then disappeared. I asked for water and I got a plastic cup and a pitcher and he didn't bother pouring it. Can of coke, no cup no ice. Waiter didn't care to ask how anything was.

Food was normal and nothing special. I had beef bulgogi and it tasted like most have I have had in the past. Spicy combo sushi was fresh but just ok. Fish was room temperature and sushi overall didn't have much flavor other than fish and rice. May have been an off day but didn't live up to the 4.5+ rating on Google.

Now that they've moved out of the Strip, this new spot is still one of the best places for sushi in Pittsburgh

In town for the weekend. Staff super attentive and helpful. Came for the collab menu and it did not disappoint. Kids loved the wings. Light batter, good season, perfect. Muuuwaaahhh...chefs kiss! Ramen was a healthy portion with that soup you want and need on a cold Pittsburg night. Worth the walk from the hotel. Wish we could sample your regular menu, but hopefully we'll be back some day. See you then!

The moment the box opens you’re greeted by a tantalizing mix of aromas: the sharp, chili-tinged spiciness of the wings in the spicy sauce, the sweet, buttery glaze of the honey-butter pieces still glistening, and the golden browned rings standing proud beside them. The presentation is inviting—crispy pieces piled high, sauce coating just enough so you still retain crunch.

The spicy chicken

Each of the ten pieces in the spicy portion delivers. The batter is crisp without being heavy, giving way to tender, juicy meat. The sauce layers in heat rather than sloppiness: there’s a clear chili tang and warmth that stays with you rather than blasts and vanishes. What’s especially good is the balancing act—the spice is strong enough to feel defined, but doesn’t obliterate your taste buds, allowing you to savor the underlying fried-chicken crunch and meat flavor.

The honey-butter chicken

Switching to the honey-butter option feels like flipping the mood—suddenly you’re in dessert-meets-savory territory. Sweet, buttery, lightly salted; the glaze wraps around crisp pieces in a way that keeps the texture intact rather than turning soggy. The sweetness is generous but restrained enough to let the chicken’s flavor shine through. Combined with the heat of the other pieces, it makes for a lovely contrast when you alternate bites.

The onion rings

What a perfect side to round it out. The onion rings are large, golden, and crisp—enough of a treat in their own right. The onion inside is cooked just enough so you get that soft interior and natural sweetness, while the coating stays crunchy. They offer a pleasing respite from the wings—both in texture and flavor. Whether you dip them in whatever stray sauce dripped from the wings, or enjoy them straight up, they add great value and variety to the combo.

Overall vibe

This meal nails the “fun indulgence” category. It’s not fine dining, but it is carefully done. The spicy wings give you bold flavor, the honey-butter gives you a comforting sweet-savory hug, and the onion rings bring in crunchy satisfaction. Good for sharing (or not—no judgment if you keep it all to yourself). If you’re in the mood for something you’ll remember, this is it.

I ordered on (Sushi Kim 2 Restaurants) 🤤tried their new limited menu the korean chicken and i am obsessed with them. I love fried chicken and wings i always try different places so that i can find the perfect ones and this did not disappoint. I really felt like i was in korea just because of how taste , and texture felt the same, whats more is its really fresh and i can tell not from frozen wings. They also have bigger chicken compared to the frozen wings in pizza places and other asian restaurants i’ve tried. If i were u and you love fried chicken u better try it. They only have it till oct 26 as i saw in ubereats however i hope they will make it permanent on their menu. (Sushi kim 2 by far is the best korean restaurant i’ve tried here in Pittsburgh even when their location was on strip district before i was already a fan. Now they have move in Downtown still the best it doesn’t matter if its fried chicken , or Korean BBQ even their soup are better than other asian restaurants I’ve tried.) p.s i added a picture from way back when they were in strip district i love their korean bbq. I also added a picture of menu in ubereats. Price of fried chicken and tonkatsu soup are affordable yet the food are phenomenal! 🥳

We stopped in for the collaboration pop up with Menya Ramen and Krisp Fried Chicken…Let me just say that it was absolutely incredible! The chicken was probably some of the best I’ve ever had. And the spicy ramen was out of this world! We will definitely be back before the pop up ends!

The service was also excellent! Top notch staff at Sushi Kim 2 ! Bravo!! See you soon!

Sushi Kim 2 is a hole in the wall spot. Currently, they are temporarily serving a different menu, ramen and Korean fried chicken (as of 10/7/25). I got the tonkotsu and the chasu was very tender. The Korean fried chicken was piping hot and crispy. The honey butter (dry-ish rub) and gochujang (wet rub) were delicious. I would come back again if I'm in the area.

I tried their limited time Ramen and Korean Fried chicken and let me tell you…. It was delicious. Best ramen I’ve had in the burg. I got the spicy miso Tonkotsu and the fried chicken was so crunchy, juicy and flavorful at the same time. The chicken wasnt dry at all. It was so good I forgot to take a picture of them. It’s only here for a limited time, so come try it!
