This is one of my favorite places to go in the city. If you haven’t tried Ethiopian food I’d highly recommend the lentil samosas and the veggie sampler. The sampler is a really fun way to eat where you use the injera (spongey goodness it’s served on) to eat all the veggie dishes. Big fan.
Hidden Gem. I have had Ethiopian cuisine in NYC and I was pleasantly surprised by this place. It hits the spot!

My favorite restaurant in Pittsburgh and where I bring any visitors!
Clean and spacious
Friendly and helpful staff
Great food with vegetarian options!
I ate at Tana on a Pittsburgh visit back in 2008 and the food was flavorful and filling! I tried the Ethiopian beer made from honey 🍯 and it was Great! I had come to see a friend play in a Jazz group and was pleasantly surprised by the cuisine. I came back twice for the food and the entertainment.
Ethiopian cuisine that's fun and tasty!
Amazing! Thank you!
My husbad and I finally were able to make time to try Tana and we were very pleased. Ethiopian is one of our favorite cuisines. The server was very attentive and the food came out quick. Will be stopping back!
Excellent food. Nice place for casual dining.
Delicious Ethiopian food – generous portions of injera, super rich lamb tibs...so good. Ordered takeout and it was ready super quickly.
Thank you guys for being patient with my Uber eats order. I ordered a little bit later in the evening and that was my fault. I appreciate you guys for staying open so I can get my order. Thank you blessings.

This was my first time trying Ethiopian food, and I have to say I was very pleasantly surprised. As a lot of reviews already suggested, I got the meat sampler to try a little bit of everything, whereas my friend got the vegetarian sampler. The various entries come with a large fermented bread called injera which reminded me of a fluffy South Indian Dosa. The food tasted great and the spices reminded me of Indian food. Honestly, if I did not know the context of the food and you just give me the dishes without that bread, I might even think that you are giving me Indian food. The portion sizes are pretty good, and honestly, I was very full by the end of it. For such great food, I honestly wish there were more people who were eating here. The space is large, but it was largely empty apart from one or two tables, and there was only one hostess who was serving everybody. Honestly, I wish more people came here to dine and gave Business to this lovely restaurant.

Very enjoyable food! Highly recommend for your visit visit to do the sampler so you can figure out what dishes you love!
Vegetarian options: There were 6 vegetarian dishes vs 4 meat dishes. Each dish explains what is in them too!
Parking: Street parking. If you go on a Sunday, it's free. Otherwise you pay at the kiosk.
Wheelchair accessibility: They are wheelchair accessible. Just currently as of 10/20, the lift was out of order.

Love this place. I've been going here for years. It's amazing and friendly. I can't believe I didn't rate it earlier. Very cool to go to if youve never had Ethiopian. I love bringing people here and trying new things. Vegan and gf friendly as well.
Vegetarian options: The veggie sampler is the best. I let the chef pick
Dietary restrictions: They had gf injera when I've been here before
Kid-friendliness: Great for families or large groups! So fun to share things!
