This place was fabulous! This is not your typical Mexican restaurant. The menu was very unique but includes a lot of classics. It really has a classy feel to it. Also, the staff were so friendly. I didn't get to have a drink but all the margs looked amazing! Both meals we had were superb my ribeye was very flavorful I loved all the sauces.. not too spicy. I will definitely be back frequently!

Service was excellent, ambiance was very nice. However, food was mediocre; one entree came out cold, and all patrons at our table found it very bland

We recently tried Tepache in Cranberry. It was excellent. Tonight we were in the Fox Chapel area so we decided to try this location. The restaurant is in the old Atria space. The interior is really just old Atria's furniture with new lighting. I don't think we would have noticed if the experience had been better. They were busy and only a few tables were free. The hostess lead us to a room at the very back of the restaurant. It felt like a meeting room with no ambiance, like the place employees would use for their break. There were a few sad souls there. The table was sticky. I discovered it was sticky because I could not move the small plate on the surface. We really wanted to enjoy our meal so we walked back to the hostess stand and asked to be seated elsewhere. A manager assisted. She was very nice and took us to a booth in the main room. Our waitress came promptly and took our drink order. When we eat Mexican we typically get a Modelo Especial in a large mug. I thought it was odd that she didn't offer the large size, but figured this location might only have the one size. When the drinks arrived, they were Modelo Negro, the dark beer. Then we realized she hadn't asked which kind. We like them both so didn't mention it. We ordered jumbo BBQ shrimp for a starter. For entrees we ordered the Northern Tamal and Southern Tamal. The menu shows it as a platter with 2 tamals and 2 sides. She asked what sides we wanted, we were choosing when she said something and we couldn't hear what she said but thought maybe she suggested rice and beans which is what we had at the Cranberry location. Turned out she didn't put in for the entrees. There is no ala carte on the menu but she decided we were each getting one tamal and no sides. The shrimp arrived along with a sorry looking plate that had one of each tamal. None of the food was good. It was bland and frankly the BBQ sauce tasted like ketchup. We had also ordered tomatillo sauce to spice up the food but even that was bland. She stopped back and we asked to see menus again. We thought we might order another item, maybe tacos. Instead of getting 2 menus for us. She grabbed one from another table and tossed it on our table. At that point, we just decided to try a dessert. We decided to share a churro plater which said it had vanilla ice cream chocolate sauce and strawberries along with the churros. The ice cream was by itself in a bowl. There were a few drips of chocolate sauce on the churros. It was okay, not as expected. We left. We will go back to the Cranberry location which has excellent service, food and ambiance.

Excellent food! Friendly and courteous service. We weren't rushed or felt hurried in any way. My 92 year old guest had never had Mexican food. She also doesn't like spicy. We conveyed this to the waiter and our food came as promised. Fajitas steak, mine spicy. Shrimp ( hers) not spicy. We were there for lunch and had enough leftover for our dinner later that evening. Our waiter made jokes about the food to my companion. He was very sweet. As we were waiting for our food there were other employees ( in the next room) cleaning everything. The blinds, fans and floor. Totally wonderful experience.

We've been to Tapache now 3 times since its opening. One of those times was on Taco Tuesday. Here's what I would say: The drinks are solid. I had the Tepache margarita last night, and it was very good. Also, the guac is excellent, the tortilla chips flaky and good as well. On Taco Tuesday, we (of course) got the tacos, which were unique, flavorful, and very good. So, thumbs up on Taco Tuesday. On the other two occasions, we ordered some of the upscale entrees. Last night, my wife got the steak and shrimp, and I had the steak. My wife and I ordered the steak to medium rare. Sadly, the entrees were flavorless and overcooked. By reading others' reviews, and from my own experiences, Tapache seems to do traditional Mexican dishes well. Tacos, burritos, quesadillas, etc. seem to be good across the board. But, if I go back, I'll stay away from their entrees.

Unbelievable! I have been to the cranberry location five times and this is my third time at this location. This place does not mess around. It is absolutely fantastic. Just get here. Oh my God, you will not be disappointed.

Nice place with good service. The chips and salsa are excellent along with the Queso. I had the steak fajitas, they were ok, could have used some seasoning. I will definitely go back.

I ordered medium rare Carne asada for pickup. It was way over done, burnt.Flaming queso at tableside, the tequila was poured around the outside of queso bowl ( if it was tequila?) not on the queso itself.
