We tried this place for a late lunch on a Sunday afternoon. The service was pleasant and attentive, but the food was disappointing. It did not seem to integrate any distinctive Thai flavors or approaches to cooking. We were missing Thai spices, fresh cilantro, basil of any kind, lime, ginger, lemongrass, fish sauce.... Even the fried rice lacked much flavor other than lightly burnt sesame oil. Pittsburgh has many great options for flavorful and authentic Thai food, ThaiFoon is, unfortunately,. not one of them.

The chicken panang was bad. The chicken was overcooked and something else was off but I cant describe it, like it wasn't even chicken. Some vegetables were still raw. The rice was not fresh. I've had panang many times and this was not panang. This dish was not made with care. I picked out what seemed edible. Paid and left. Will not return.

Very surprised this place is rated over 4 stars. I ordered the Udon Noodles and was asked to pick a spice level. I choose 2. It was so incredibly spicy that it was inedible and was also ridiculously salty. The waitress came back and apologized saying that this dish is not supposed to be spicy so a level 2 is actually a level 4. This made no sense at all. I was promised a redo and sat for 20 minutes after paying my check without her bringing a new plate. Honestly it would probably be too salty like the first one. I should have said no thanks and just had them take it off the bill. I left without eating what a waste of money.
