This place is not like it used to be.. my husband and I met here back in 2019 so we thought this was a significant place to our story. We tried going back to eat here with our toddler son and we didn’t even get to say anything to the hostesses (there were two standing there) once we got up to them and they rudely said “we don’t have any high chairs” then turned back to each other and continued their conversation. they didn’t know that I was ever going to ask that let alone if my son even needed a high chair. If that’s your policy of having no kids at your restaurant now, then alright. But your staff definitely could benefit from proper customer service training and basic human decency.

Fantastic vegan and vegetarian options. Highly recommend Sunday brunch. The coffee bar is pretty great as well. Would come here every weekend if I could.Vegetarian options: Try the vegan pancakes and the tofu scrambler. You won't be disappointed.

Although we have been here several times this was my first time for brunch. It was very off putting that we were asked by the hostess to leave. We occupied our table a little more than an hour. Both my friend and I are in town from Europe. I don’t care for being rushed through a meal. We had paid and were wrapping up our visit but the hostess asking us to leave was too much. We were planning on gathering there Tuesday again but now I think we’ll find somewhere else to go.

I loved the vibes! Server was good, but he was eager to take our order and get us out of the door. Food was... meh. I got the chicken and biscuit. Everything had great flavor except the chicken, it was very dry. The server never asked us how our food tasted, he just said do you need a box. If he asked, I would have told him. The bacon was amazing tho! After we paid (maybe like ten minutes) the hostess came up to us and said we needed to leave soon because someone had the table reserved. I thought that was a little excessive but it's fine. There was a cute little coffee shop and bar area that we hung out at for a little, then left.

Best calamari I've had in Pittsburgh so far. The lasagna was deliciously seasoned with or without the additional meat option. The salmon was perfectly cooked, very moist and tender.

Took my parents here because the place looked fun and it seems frequently busy. Sat down, promptly greeted by our waiter. The disappointment began with the place not having physical menus. My parents (both 65+) had issues navigating the phone menu. It is also unclear from the small QR menu what comes with what. We waited over 30 minutes for our food to come out at 11:30 am with barely anyone in the restaurant. (a veggie wrap, a burger, and lasagna). The burger and wrap were each almost $20 WITHOUT an included side, which is preposterous for the lack of quality we received. The lasagna was $28 and did not even come with a side salad. It was listed in the menu as having a meatball or veggie ball option. This was then upcharged on the bill. My dad ended up paying $28 for a LUNCH portion of mediocre "deconstructed" lasagna, $5 for a salad, and $6 for meatballs on his plate. Total rip-off. I couldn't even eat my wrap because the hummus was turned. I politely asked them to remove it from the check and that I would not like to take it home. For my mom's burger and salad and my dad's meatball lasagna and salad the bill was over SEVENTY DOLLARS. Totally unacceptable. If we were already not in a rush to leave I would have flagged the waiter down again. It was 1pm by the time we were able to leave. I would appreciate the restaurant reaching out to me because I would like a refund for my poor dad who had to fork out almost $100 for a terrible lunch experience for TWO lunch entrees. We will never come back here.

Meh New server UR code menu not easy to navigate Just offer paper menus $16 for a house cab would have been nice to know Burger was tasty BUT unfortunately Overcooked Confusing you cant get an alternate side dish because it comes from a “different “ kitchen I would think a side dish is mostly made in advance and kept warm Pricey for the overall experience Not recommending

I was here for dinner. I wanted to like this place. It was a bit odd walking in; there was a beautiful, huge bar near the entrance, with people eating at tables next to it, but that bar was closed for some reason. So, I went to another bar on the side and ordered there. The bartender was excellent, although super busy and in need of a barback. Good beer selection, and while I'm not a mixed drink person, they looked good too. Well-appointed, handsome place, if a bit overdesigned and self-consciously quirky (a quote from a Queen song on the wall, giant retro posters in the restroom, etc.) Still, the atmosphere and vibe gave me high hopes. The food did not match my expectations. The curry fries were good, although pretty basic, too. Same with the fish and chips. Not *bad*, but for $27, they'd better be dang good. I was expecting something more along the lines of Independent Brewing or Insurrection, a twist on the usual bar food. This was just pretty good bar food, nothing more.I think I would return to try the coffee or just drinks and an appetizer, but otherwise I think there are better places that cost less. I think this place is a boring person's idea of fancy. Expensive does not necessarily mean it's good. And, again, hire a barback.

Haven’t tried their food yet, but their coffee is great and it’s such a great vibe to chill and have a coffee date or even just work on your laptop! The service is always great and very friendly!

After our food order for four was taken, apparently it was processed in two separate kitchens on the premises. Half our party got their food within five minutes, the other two dinners (from the other kitchen) took close to a half hour to get prepared and served. While the server had taken our drink orders at the same time as our food, again, only half our party got served drinks promptly. After twenty minutes or better, our server came back to the table to say that they did not have one ingredient for a particular drink, and would that person like an alternative drink - while still never bringing the fourth person in our party the drink they ordered twenty minutes earlier and for which they had all the ingredients. So, half of us got prompt service and half of us were completely ignored. Not a good experience. Additionally, I get personally offended by this trend that allows your waitperson to come dressed as if they forgot they had to work that day and hadn't remembered to wash any clean clothes for their shift that day. What happened with wanting to look even a little adult and professional? I guess if you're not comfortable acknowledging that your college education, or lack thereof, prepared you for a career in waiting tables at that age, I guess it helps your self-esteem to pretend it's all temporary gig theatre. But honestly, projection affects perception. Dress like you could care less about being there, people will believe you could care less about it too.

Not sure what happened to The Abbey, but the food quality has just tanked. We've gone a couple times now post pandemic and the food is bland. We've tried 3 times now. The results where 1) cold food 2) raw meatballs 3) overcooked steaks The people that work there are great and the ambience is wonderful. But the people prepping and making the food are just not quality anymore.

The food is fantastic!! Good wine selection and excellent service in a wonderful warm setting! We can only afford it once a year or so but what a treat!!
