Everything about this place is all you could ever ask for. food is amazing and the atmosphere and vibe here is immaculate. the owner himself is very hands on and involved with the staff and all of the customers. will forever be one of my go to spots for happy hr! I love this place. 10/10.

As a traveling Mason I'm booked next door in the Holiday Inn, I walked over to grab some grub and I must say.....THIS IS THE VERY BEST BAR/ RESTAURANT IN PITTSBURGH!!!!!! FOOD IS OUTSTANDING, ATMOSPHERE IS NICE& WELCOMING ,AND THE STAFF IS BOSS!!!!!! I STRONGLY RECOMMEND THE ALCOVE TO ALL TRAVELERS !!!!!!! CONCRETE BOB

This is a local beer spot in the Greentree / Westwood neighborhood. They have trivia on Mondays and sometime a general music DJ other days of the week. The bar is local and an easy walk to spot.
But honestly, if the male bartender JOJO is not there, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!
All the other staff have no idea how to complete basic tasks like making drinks or serving a cold beer. I had a sandwich order and ten minutes later, the bartender/ waitress was randomly walking around at tables with my food trying to figure out whose order it was…. I literally was at the bar. The bar was half way full for a Saturday night, and the bartenders were clueless on how to function. They are not active listeners and they just go through the motions.
Again, if JoJo is working, this a great spot for wings and cold beer. Otherwise, simply walk out, it’s not worth your time or money.

Spacious Bar next to a Holiday Inn Express. Wings were on special (Wednesdays) and were excellent quality and cooked perfectly. Coleslaw was great, so good that I took a second order of it back to my hotel room. I also got a Mountain Chili to go. It was thick with lots of beans, meat, and cheese. I added a sugar packet to sweeten it up a bit.

The space was on the cold side, but there were lots of TVs and games to play. Darts, video slots, pool, etc.

Service wise, they had one bartender trying to serve everyone. She did a good job of it, but it was busy and she was running every where. They really should have a couple more on the wait staff. The kitchen seemed well staffed as they delivered the food.

I must say all the dishes looked good as they came out and I won’t hesitate to eat here again when staying at the Holiday Inn Express Greentree.

We love the bartenders and the food is amazing. We come here a lot, but the DJ’s are too loud! We are stopping going here on the weekends. You can’t speak to the person next to you. DJ Scales (not sure if that is his name, can’t understand his b/c his mike is too loud) is obnoxious, they said he wouldn’t be back. Obviously they lied.

First time and the Alcove delivered! Excellent bbq mac and cheese perfectly cooked fries. Place actually had a personality when we picked up food. Friendly people. Nice customers. Place has good ambiance. Will definitely be back to this hidden gem in greentree!! Highly recommend

We stopped in after staying at the hotel right beside it. We came in shortly before they were open since our check out at the hotel was the same time they opened. They were super welcoming and even asked where we were from. Food was fantastic! Great portions and super delicious! They were helpful on directing us on how to get our food ordered and even helped when we wanted to play pool.

Great place for a beer and sandwich.

closing time says 11 first day on vacation here and we decided that would be the first place we eat. we ubered and arrived around 9:00 pm, our uber had already left when we come to find out the doors are locked… they said they closed early bc it was slow ultimately leaving us stranded with having to get another uber to another resturaunt. and idk i work at a resturaunt and we’ve never been allowed to close early bc of being slow usually u take ppl right up until closing time. needless to say we won’t be coming back during our stay :)

This place is a MUST eat. We ate here 3 times on our trip to the area. Food was so good. Service was very quick and superb even though they were busy each time. Everyone was very nice.

Excellent chicken sandwich and fried zucchini. Amazing bartenderJojo kept an upbeat and friendly service while handling 7 tables and a full bar.
