My friend and I went here today. My friend was here before but this was my first time. I got 2 brownies, 2 blondies and 2 brownies with icing. Everything was very good. The problem was the employee, who was different from the one My friend had the first time, wasn't friendly at all! She seen us When we stepped into the shop she chose to stay in the back. We rang the bell. We watched her stand there until she was ready to come to the front. I'm not sure who the owner is but hopefully they would want ALL paying customers to be treated kindly and with respect.

I love relaxing here for a bit, they usually have some nice vegan small cakes with a cool vintage aesthetic.

The floral scents and tastes and old time you feel the place sets a wonderful mood for some delicious treats.

The place had so much potential from the moment I saw it online to when I looked at the beautiful little cakes behind the glass. Unfortunately, the place did not deliver.

I asked for a slice of the rosemary cake with blood orange icing. Instead of serving a fresh slice, the server took a slice behind the fresh cake and gave me what is probably a day-old slice with no decorative flowers on top. What was likely a soft flavorful treat has devolved into a sad shadow of its former self. The cake was stale turning each bite into a lackluster experience. Even Dunkin Donuts throws away what they cannot sell for the day, so it is truly unacceptable for a bakery to serve this.

My friend ordered a different small cake which was more moist with matcha cream in between. Despite its instagramble presentation, the delicate flavor of sesame was overwhelmed by the sweetness and nowhere to be found. The cake is more of a pound cake but somehow crumbly on the edges, than a sponge. This does salvage a little the disappointment that was my slice.

There were two flys bothering us the entire time. The last thing you want to see in a cake shop.

I hope this does not come across as too harsh and the management takes this to improve the services because I would love to see a thriving local establishment where I can get my sweet fix 🙏

Love love love the selection of pastries ! The staff is super cool too. Love the queer friendly vibes, as well as the vegan options!! my partner is lactose intolerant, so this is crucial for us! And they always have nice and beautiful selections of vegan desserts, too. Nothin boring exists in this shop!! And the atmosphere!!! Always nice to sit inside, or the lil fairy-esque garden in the back :)

On top of being such a cute and aesthetic coffee shop, Butterwood made us the most beautiful and delicious cake, which we used as a small wedding cake. They have very unique, rotating flavors, so it's perfect if you want an out-of-the-ordinary cake flavor and their trademark floral toppings. It's a much cheaper alternative to getting a giant custom cake (though they do those as well).
