We each ordered the fried chicken sandwich. Reviews had raved about this dish. I like hot , but this was ridiculous. My lips were numb up to my nose. Service was OK. I had been here before and this time, it just didn't seem special. Felt it was overrated.
I've loved this place in the past so I'll go back but my drink and entree were both unappetizing. My friends meal was better stay away from the frittata! Greasy and no flavor. Server was sweet but not attentive.
I have been here many times and it's a great little spot inside a historic museum. They do a great job sourcing ingredients and the food is always well prepared. The drinks and cafe are always top notch. I'd highly recommend this place.
If you like airport food this is the place for you.

Lovely atmosphere, decent drinks, an easy stop over for visiting the museum.
The Chef Collaboration meal is delicious once again! It's a Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich. The purple slaw on it is a perfect compliment on the palate.
Only barely worthy element is the atmosphere. The spicy chicken was inedible, the Angus burger way past well done, grilled cheese sandwich barely decent, coffee was lukewarm, and the waitress went on long term leave. I was embarrassed to have brought my three lovely guests with me. Awful, will never dine there again.
We went here after visiting the botanical garden. It was nicely located for us. Our reservation was ready and waiting for us on a busy Sunday afternoon. Some of our selections for lunch included the wild salmon salad and the chicken crepes. All were delicious. Some in our group had a chocolate pudding that looked amazing, gelato and I had a steamer, a light and sweet treat.
tried the almond torte and burnt almond cake. almost died (im allergic to almonds). great place, friendly staff

Food is creative and delicious - atmosphere is sunny and bright, but quiet enough to converse. Excellent value.
We had lunch. I ordered the Beet and chicory salad with gorgonzola. I inquired about chicory; was fine with it. But I mostly got arugula and very little gorgonzola. Maybe 5 small slices or leaves of chicory. The beets were good but only a few very thin slices. It was not what I was expecting, nor I believe what was promised. If I had known, it was mostly arugula I would have ordered something else. It was very edible. I will choose something else next time. My companion had the salmon salad. She said it was fine. We chose to sit nearer the window. It was cold there on a cold day. Our fault. We were offered a table closer to the center of the room.
Our waitress, Lily, was excellent. Overall - an extremely pleasant dining experience. The menu is not huge, but is exceptionally diverse. Such creative options. We really had a lovely time and will definitely go again.
Excellent and interesting flavors in both food and cocktails. Service was personable and excellent.
Everything about our meal was perfect. The Cafe Carnegie is one of my favorite places to dine in Pittsburgh, whether I am visiting the musuem or not!
