The view is nice and the guys when you walk in are very nice and helpful . The food was just ok and overpriced in my opinion. It's described online as hamburger restaurant but no hamburgers or handhelds available in the evening. Apparently that's lunch but that's not how the menu is shown online. It's listed several times that they add gratuity to parties over 8. But apparently they only allow one check for parties as well. That wasn't stated anywhere.
Enjoyed lunch here with tasty food, good service, and of course the great view. Espresso martini was delicious.
Food is always good at the Grandview Saloon. The waffle desert is awesome, and you can't beat the view.
Should extend lunch items menu to dinner. Ideal location for view of the Burgh. Needs a little revamping a bit. (Flooring, general cleanliness etc...) Great location and served its purpose.
I loved the idea of dinner with this great view. I was hoping for a great dining experience but we were left with much disappointment. The staff was great the entire time. Service was quicker than even expected. Prices are comparable. But sadly the food was very bland. Scampi that has little flavor and a steak dinner with no apparent seasoning was hard to expect at a place like this. When I take my wife out for a special dinner I want it to be better than we can make at home, worthy of our money and time. I truly hope our experience is not the norm.
We were in Pittsburgh to celebrate our anniversary and found this place in the exit are of Duquesne incline. The host was kind enough to give us a table without a reservation. We told them it was our anniversary and asked if we could sit outside for the amazing night view of the city. He said those tables were reserved. We saw a couple that had a reservation be put outside with the view but two more parties came without and reservation and they both got put outside. We were disappointed but hopeful that at least the food was good. The waiter was nice so we ordered and the food came out fairly quickly. I ordered the bacon wrapped pork medallions and my husband ordered the seafood pasta. The food was VERY disappointing. My pork was super dry and lacked flavor. The potatoes seemed like they’d were packaged powder potatoes. They were suppose to be garlic mashed potatoes but they didn’t appear to have any garlic flavoring. My husbands shrimp on his pasta we’re nice and plump but had no flavor. The pasta just seemed to be drowned in flavorless butter sauce. My Brussels sprouts also had no flavor. There was no salt on the table and the waiter was far to busy to come back and check on us. He was very sweet but never asked how things were. My husband didn’t finish his food and mother did I. It was so flavorless. It was so expensive for being subpar food. I am fine with paying for quality but this food was far from that. We ended up going to a pizza spot in downtown that had way better seafood pasta. I can only imagine the best thing about this place would be the view. And maybe the Mule. Also the place was loud and hectic. I realize that is not always in there control They did good on the alcohol their. However, I would not recommend this place to people I know are coming to Pittsburgh

Great place to try, we went here for our anniversary date so it was enjoyable but the food was just okay. We still had a great time enjoying the view!

We bought out the entire restaurant for a 100+ person corporate event and everyone LOVED and complimented me and my co worker on the view, the food, the staff, everything. There was a little hiccup with the one side dish and Stella and the whole staff gave us complimentary dessert even though the hiccup ended up being a hit side anyway! Highly recommend them for anything big or small. Thank you all from the Independent Waste Haulers!!

Been to this restaurant a half dozen times before. Great place to take guests to view the Pittsburgh skyline. The service is always very good. In past visits, the food has also been very good, but last night's dinner was average at best. Wanted to try the barbecue ribs, but they were out of them. Switched to the half chicken and mashed potatoes. Neither the chicken, nor the mashed potatoes had much flavor. Hopefully, it was just an off night. Certainly won't stop me from going there in the future.
Food and service was good but the view ......makes it

This is gastropub food and it delivers. Before it was a five-star view with 2-3 star food. They have upped their game. Pub standards but first-rate execution. Treat yourself!
We love sitting on the deck during good weather for the fantastic view. Our service was good but the food was just okay this time. I really don't understand why they don't offer any sandwich or burger options for dinner though. I think this place is a much better option for lunch.
I was fortunate enough to dine outside and enjoy the spectacular views of the city. I had the roasted half chicken and it was perfect, as were the garlic mashed potatoes. The Brussel sprouts were whelming (I prefer them roasted), but everything else was so good I won't ding them for that. The only thing that sucks, and this may be a major issue for some people, is that the bathrooms are on the 3rd floor. Other than that, it's well worth it.

First of of course the view is amazing! The food, drinks and service were stellar! And the ambiance and funicular to get to the restaurant was a step back in time! If you get the chance, definitely make a stop, the photo ops alone are worth it, yet the food and service steak the show!
Atmosphere and service was great, but the food really wasn’t good. The pasta was undercooked in 2 different dishes and the tacos were very dry, it seemed like the tortillas were stale. It’s a nice view but i’d only go here to have a drink in the future
