The Inn is stunning. Very much a Luxury BnB! Terrific location, we walked to the museums, local churches, restaurants, etc. The staff were wonderful, helping us with everything. Nice to grab a glass of wine, or two, (provided by the Inn) in the afternoon on the outdoor deck after a day of playing tourist. The breakfasts were superb and much more than we expected. Definitely the place to stay when you are in the Pittsburgh region!

This bed and breakfast is amazing. It is decorated beautifully and so clean, there’s not one thing that they have not thought of in the rooms. They even have the remotes sanitized. The inn keeper, was absolutely delightful and so is everybody that works in the B and B. In my opinion one of the nicest B and B’s we’ve stayed in and we’ve stayed in many. I would highly recommend this lovely sanctuary to anyone.

I lived in Pittsburgh from 2009 - 2012, I always hoped that when I went back I would stay at the Inn on Negley. It was everything I had dreamed of and more. Magical place!

Wow. From entrance through departure we were welcomed by a refined and gentle mannered staff. Food allergies were beyond
accommodated. Each sandwich and pastry was a work of art and the tea was outstanding. Every part of the experience was respectfully explained to us and the Chef was warm and kind in addition to being a culinary artist. Can’t wait to bring back out of town family to enjoy this EXPERIENCE.

It's not fair to call this place a “hotel”. Forget the impersonal, standardized comfort of the best hotels. Here, you're transported back in time and want to stay forever. It's like the home of a very rich and kind friend. This gem makes you feel like you're in a Jane Austen book, but with all the comforts of today. The Inn on Negley is beautiful! Think Persian rugs, oil paintings, delicate china, solid wood furniture, crystal chandeliers, canopy beds, different decor in each of the eight rooms charmingly named after apples. Look at the photos on the website: they're real. Add new, fresh-smelling bed linen, a pillow menu, soft towels, fluffy bathrobes, slippers and L'Occitane toiletries. Add impeccable maintenance: perfect cleanliness, new paintwork, no peeling, no mold (not even on the shower curtain). What's more, breakfast is freshly made to order (forget that giant buffet full of fattening, bland things): everything is very delicate, decorated with flowers, warm muffins that melt in your mouth; afternoon tea with free cookies for guests, and special afternoon tea (paid separately) for guests and/or anybody who wants to come. All done in an impeccably clean kitchen (yes, I went to check the kitchen). And the icing on the cake: the extremely friendly and helpful staff. It was hard to leave after a perfect week.
For us, the location was excellent, because our goal was to visit Carnegie Mellon and Pitt universities, which are very close (you can walk there). The Shadyshide neighborhood is well served by shops and restaurants, all close to the hotel. It's very safe, so you can walk around even at night (important information for our Brazilian fellows).
Finally, I need to mention a few details that may bother some people: 1) the rooms don't have a minibar (we didn't feel the need); 2) the internet wasn't very good, at various times I had to dock my cell phone to work on the computer (I think it was a one-off problem that they were solving); 3) the Inn on Negley is in a beautiful late 19th century house, without an elevator. The rooms are on the ground floor, first floor and second floor. Ours was on the second floor (Empire suite). We had to climb two flights of stairs to get there. If you have mobility problems or are traveling with a lot of luggage, ask for a suite on the ground floor.
In conclusion: can I give this wonderful place more than five stars? I want to go back!!!! The bar has been raised. I won't stay anywhere else when I go back to Pittsburgh!

Me and 9 other friends had the benefit of staying at the Inn On Negley. We took over the place and the staff was amazing. They catered to our every need. The food was great, the rooms were great everything was just perfect. I highly recommend this Inn.

I have been a regular to Pittsburgh for 15 years, the first 8 years we stayed at the Omni or Fairmont to be close to the downtown and stadiums. The last 6 years we found the Negley, it's is our favorite. The breakfast and wine/cheese on the weekend are excellent. We visit at least 4 times a year, the staff is wonderful, they make you feel like family. The rooms are clean and cozy. The Inn is beautifully decorated during the holidays and the outdoor deck is great in the warmer weather. Looking forward to several more trips this year.

I always wanted to try high tea and this place was excellent. The staff was excellent as well as the food. The tea was really good and I tried new ones which I would not normally do. I definitely will go again.

My husband surprised me with a night away in our own city for my birthday and the staff at The Inn on Negley made it an incredible experience. They had rose petals on the bed for us when we arrived along with an amazing in room massage arranged with robes and slippers to relax in after. Wine and cheese and a chocolate ganache cake delivers for an evening snack. A delicious chef prepared breakfast was delivered to our room to enjoy the next morning while a coffee and tea bar was available to us the entire time as well. We were welcomed to the Inn during high tea and still shown the beautiful accommodations ending in our gorgeous clean, amazing room where we were cared for by the most accommodating thoughtful staff the entire stay, making this a perfect romantic nightaway for this local couple! Thank you to everyone especially John who helped my husband choose those perfect touches that helped make our visit so special.

Enjoyed Cocoa and Cookies again this holiday season on Sunday, Dec. 29 with my daughter. Service was amazing! John (and everyone else) was kind, generous, and so accommodating, even at a very busy time of day. Cocoa was out of this world!
Thank you once again!

Came here with my mom for high tea and was beyond impressed with everything.
Walking up to the inn, you are welcomed through the houses’ original tall doors, stepping into a beautifully preserved time capsule.
There is a large selection of tea to choose from, and the cakes, scones, and sandwiches were perfectly prepared. My mother and I agreed that everything we ate was perfect!

Don’t hesitate to book this experience if you’re in the fence about it. You won’t want to miss it.
