The brunette waitress who had two braids in on Wednesday night should not be serving by herself yet. I joined my friends party probably 45 minutes after they had sat down. I was never greated, I had to flag her down just to ask for a drink and a food menu. She walked by probably 4 times before I even did that, she also never dropped off water. She also never took my food order. She dropped off everyone’s checks but never took my food order. I just gave up by the end. Good thing I wasn’t hungry at my friends birthday or anything.

We went for restaurant week. Everything was perfect! We'll definitely be back to try the traditional menu.

What a disappointment. First time here for restaurant week. If your going to do restaurant week at least have more than 1 server, 1 bartender and a bus boy. First off we ordered 1 dozen oysters as they were the Tuesday special. 30 minutes later they were thrown down on our table by the bartender with no plates or silverware. Apps weren't bad but our entrees were horrible. I got the lobster risotto which wasn't risotto but clumped half cooked rice in butter. My sons entree was worse. He got the wagyu steak which consisted of 5 postage stamp sized pieces of meat about a 1/16 of an inch thin with a twice baked potato. Totally unacceptable. The cheesecake for dessert was just ok. We were there for about 2 hours because they were severely understaffed. Also one couple got up and left before even being waited on. We should have done the same. We left extremely unhappy and will not return.

We went for Restaurant Week and everything was amazing. The servers and manager were all attentive, kind and cheerful. The food was incredible and well worth the price. We can't wait to go back soon to try their regular menu!

Wanted to go out for restaurant week. Got a reservation, showed up with no host just pointed to a table that didnt even have enough chairs. After waiting 15 minutes with no one to even give us a menu, my date asked if we could have one and we were told the kitchen was slammed so it was drinks only… at 7:30 pm - everyone there seemed to already have there food and it wasn't even a completely full room. I asked if there was no food even with a reservation, I just received an exasperated reply not even an apology. I’ve worked in food service for a while and this was the most apathetic service Ive ever experienced. They could’ve cared less if we were there, let alone had a reservation. It was so unnecessarily loud in there as well, as if it were a club. Couldn’t tell you if the food was good cause we never had a chance to try it. I was extremely disappointed in how poorly the place was managed, on a week where you expect a lot of people, on a day that wasn’t busting at the seems full of people. I don’t normally leave reviews but this was particularly disappointing.

The server was great and very nice. The main problem was the food. I got the breakfast burger and home fries. The burger came out scorching hot which I loved, but the potatoes were so cold they felt refrigerated. I don’t think I’ll go back.

Best smash burger and hand cut fries I ever had. The bartender also made a mean cocktail. Delicious and affordable. Must visit.
Lots of room, but the thermostat could be turned up a few degrees—the restaurant was full of people when I went in late autumn but was still chilly. The menu is extensive, with lots of options for different people, and the portion sizes are perfect.

I had an absolutely fantastic experience at The Library on Carson! From the moment I walked in, the cozy, book-themed ambiance and moody lighting created the perfect vibe for a relaxed evening. The staff was incredibly welcoming—shoutout to Dee and Keresty for their attentive and friendly service during our Sunday birthday brunch. They handled our large group with ease, and everything from the bottomless mimosas to the smash burgers was spot-on.
The menu is creative and delicious, with standout items like the garlic grilled cheese bites, truffle fries, and seasonal French toast. I also loved the rooftop patio and upstairs lounge with a pool table—such a cool surprise! Whether you're grabbing cocktails with friends, enjoying brunch, or just hanging out solo, this place hits the mark.
The Library on Carson is now one of my go-to spots in Pittsburgh. Great food, great drinks, great people. Can’t wait to come back!

The Library on Carson is such a vibe! Cozy, stylish, and somehow perfect whether you’re here for a solo night with a cocktail or a fun date. The half-off wine on Fridays is chef’s kiss, the spinach artichoke dip and Brussels sprouts are absolute musts, and the house-made espresso martini, the Black Beauty, is the perfect nightcap. The staff are friendly, the drinks are expertly made, and the atmosphere just hits — highly recommend checking it out!

Love this place! Go Tuesdays for the 1$ Oysters and Wednesdays for half price burgers! You won't be disappointed with the Kimchi burger or BBQ burger!
