Some people in our party loved this place, some people just liked it, so four stars seemed fitting. The concept of being able to customize and build your own dish with your choice of noodle, protein, vegetables and spices is fun and makes it easier for those who are a little pickier than others. You cant beat the service, very friendly and the the facility is new and clean. Worth a visit when you are tooting around Squirrel Hill and get a hankering for some noodles.

Not a fair review as we were unable to try it. The place is closed and from messaging them on Instagram, they couldn't tell me when they would be open again.

The food was really disappointingly bland and honestly kinda ruined a night out with a friend.

This is one of my new favorites in Squirrel Hill! Good flavorful broth and some harder to find noodles in Pittsburgh (like liver and intestine). I'll be back to try appetizers and more noodles :) It's clean inside and service is fast. I think Everyday Noodle down the street definitely has a fancier ambiance and it's where I'd maybe bring a guest visiting Pittsburgh, but I prefer this place in terms of the food.

I really enjoyed trying this restaurant. We didn't have any issues with service. I had the crispy pork to start, definitely ask for extra dripping sauce. It was delicious. Based on other reviews I decided to order the spicy pork intestine noodle soup. The waitress right away asked if I was sure and I said yes, and she looked very unsure, giggled, and walked away. Which of course made me even more unsure of my choice. But once I tasted my soup I knew I made the right decision. The broth was extremely flavorful and the pork intestine pretty much melts in your mouth.

This is my new favorite noodle place. Reasonable prices, authentic food, and delicious!

Love the food here, service not so much. We came here on a Monday night around dinner time. We were essentially the only 4 customers in the restaurant. There was only one other table with people, yet we had to flag the server down frequently. But...the soup noodles were delicious. If you like spicy, I highly recommend the Spicy Pork Intestine Soup-- it might not sound so appetizing in English, but trust me, it's amazing. The meat is fatty and soft and that that oily Szechuan spice is on point. This place recently opened so they may still be working out logistics, just FYI the crispy pork is $8, not $7 as the menu states. I'm not sure if it's worth the $8. Also, if you want to split cards, they will only split two. I'd totally come back for the Spicy Pork Intestine Soup though!

I really wanted to like this place but felt that my dish - the dry noodle with pork was disappointing. The Magic Noodle is a new restaurant in Squirrel Hill. The seating is very spacious inside and there is also the option of outdoor seating. We went on a Wednesday evening and it wasn't very crowded. I got the dry noodle dish which is noodles with ground pork with a sauce at the bottom. Something important to keep in mind is NOT to order this dish if you're not goo with spice. I'm generally okay with spicy food but this dish made my tongue burn and left me with a stomachache after. I'm not sure if it's a special Chinese spice they used, but I ended up not finishing my dish because I couldn't handle the unpleasant tingling of my tongue. I'm Korean so I tend to enjoy all types of Asian food but I really was not a fan of this noodle dish. My friend got a soup with broth and it was much better - I highly recommend getting a different noodle dish if you come check this place out.

Really good noodles and fried rice. Menu, especially the "customize your own noodles" portion, was a bit difficult to understand.

After a long, hard day of moving our daughter in to her college apartment...we needed a nice sit-down spot for a quiet meal, and this place did the trick! We ordered several dishes to share around the table, and our servers helped guide our choices being our first time to this restaurant. The menu is small, but there weer still plenty of options to choose from. We ended up ordering the rose dumplings, pork buns, garlic cucumbers and a tofu soy sauce fried rice. My daughter also ordered herself a bowl of wonton soup. The rose dumplings were (by far) the most artistic dish presented to us, they appeared exactly like a rose bloom (still closed up) drizzled with a sauce similar to yum-yum. The steamed pork buns were exactly what you'd expect if you know this dish, served with some fragrant greens to give each bite a little fresh "pop". The garlic cucumbers were peeled (would have preferred the skins on) and zippy from the garlic sauce they were bathed in...very refreshing! The tofu fried rice (with a soy sauce base) was good, but took a little while to build up flavor in your mouth due to the subtle amount of seasonings. Overall, it was a very enjoyable meal and not at all heavy. I hope this spot does well!

Drove there based on rating. Ordered two bowls of noodle soup and two side dishes from the Chinese menu. Pro: Great service and friendly staff. Noodle soup was tasty. Con: the side dishes were overpriced (or you may say portions are way too low). We got a cucumber salad dish which cost $7 but only enough to cover the surface of a small plate. It was gone before I realized that I should have taken a photo or something. The cucumber itself couldn't cost more than 50 cents. Now here's the beef tripes which cost $8. This really pissed me off. As you can see in my photo, I used a glass as reference. This is a typical portion size of a small dim sum dish. The thing is, even in a really good dim sum restaurant located in a busy commercial area such a dish would not cost more than $4-5. Dear owner, I know rent is high, everything is expensive, blah, blah. But for the price I pay, you need to at least offer 1.5-2 times of food you serve. This would not add even $1 to your cost and your customer WILL BE satisfied.

Customizable noodle dishes. You can order off their regular menu but they also give you a paper menu which allows you to choose the type of noodle, broth (or no broth) and topping. There are a variety of meat toppings but also excellent vegetable toppings. The restaurant is quite vegetarian friendly. They make the buns and corn pancakes in house. I watched them making dumplings. In good weather there is an outdoor seating option. You can order items with 0-5 spicing. My one concern with the restaurant is that a dish ordered with #1 spicing (mild) came out fairly spicy. It was not as spicy as a dish ordered with maximum spicing though--so if you do not want spicy, have a good talk with the waitstaff.

The magic noodle was great! Very kind and attentive staff. We got the rose dumplings for an appetizer and they were pretty good. I like how you can build your own bowl of noodles. Everything tasted fresh and flavorful. Will be back!
