I've lived in the South Hills for my entire life but have never tried The Pie Place. My family and I bought a full-sized fruit of the forest pie from their tent at the Bethel Park Farmer's Market on Tuesday. By Thursday evening, it was covered in something resembling spider webs - unsure if it was mold or some sort of insect, as it was covered in ants. Totally grossed out.

Bought a peach pie, pecan tart, and 2 mini tarts. Everything was HORRIBLE, no taste to anything. What a waste of money. Absolutely terrible

Most of the time everything is good.
Had a few disappointments. But nothing that has kept us from returning yet.

I stopped by The Pie Place recently and bought a pastry and those pepperoni rolls in the bag and something else that I can’t remember (haha). I kind of felt the same way as the person who wrote something a few months back about the food tasting like the cleaning smell. When I bit into the pastry I had that sensation - like I was smelling something that was used to clean the floors…..it came and went real fast, but still it was there. The pepperoni rolls were just ok. I’ve had better. The pastry pie tasted pretty average, but the dough wasn’t quite sweet enough. It was a little bit too bland. The employee who waited on me was very nice. they sell coffee and drinks in there too, and of course, cookies, which I didn’t try and there is a place to sit. if you just wanna have a quick bite and a pastry and coffee and meet a friend there. It’s a cute little place to do it in.

From the time I was a very small child until today, at the age of 42, there’s nowhere else I’ve ever found that makes as good of baked goods/pastries as The Pie Place!!!

I bought an apple pie at the farmers market today. I've had it before, and it was fine. Served it to 4 people later that evening ( bought the pie at 4.. served at 7) .. everyone had to spit it out. It was like out a movie. I don't know if the apples were rotten.. or something was mixed with the filling/crust. But it was disgusting. Very disappointed.. $20 right in The trash.

I was so excited when I stumbled across this place! I went nuts and bought a little bit of everything. 2 bars, a slice of fruit cobbler, a bag of pepperoni rolls, 2 cake/cookie dough bars, and a few other small individual items.Everything looked yummy. But the shop smelled so weird- like a really strong cleaning agent. I just assumed they had just cleaned as the place was spotless. When I got home I dug into the cake balls and they tasted like they had been bathed in that cleaning smell. They were inedible. I tried everything else and they all tasted exactly the same. It’s like the entire shop is doused in this weird smell so much so that the food actually all tastes the same: terrible. The pepperoni rolls were the only thing that tasted normal and they were in a sealed bag.I’m not one to throw negative feedback online around a small business bc I like to support local but I called to discuss and nobody ever called meBack. And the girl I spoke with mentioned this was not the first case of this complaint.I hope they can fix this. It’s a really cute place and everything looks incredible.
