We had some outstanding new menu items but had to start with old favorite the smoked trout rillettes, they are so bright and delicious. The Asparagus with Lobster and sauce Americaine was an eye-opener. I had never had Sauce Americaine before, and it was subtle and wonderful. We shared the roasted half chicken with spring salad which was out of this world. the peas and sugar snap peas in the salad were so fresh and delicious. the dressing and the sauce for the chicken melded together to make a wonderful flavor. Wines were tasty and the service ws great.

The Vandal was outstanding and fun as always! The Fois Mousse with the thinn waffles was amazing. Had the Duck rillettes for the first time, glad we did.

Great service & ambience. Some menu items were pretty good, others were just okay. Menu items a bit pricey for the quality. Good place to grab a drink at the bar

Excellent food and a high quality wine list. The only problem was that the room was very noisey.

I have just been served what can only be described as Duck French Toast and I would commit crimes to eat it again

One of my favorite spots in Pittsburgh, let alone Lawrenceville. The food is incredible. I love their martini service and the ambiance inside. Great date night spot.

Vegetarian options: The menu has several solid vegetarian offerings and they are happy to accommodate for others (meat served on the side or removed if possible and requested)

Dietary restrictions: All staff are incredibly knowledgeable about the dishes and very communicative with the kitchen

Parking: You're parking in Lawrenceville, beware of busy weekend nights!

Wheelchair accessibility: This restaurant has a concrete ramp straight into the building and everything is all on one level. Bathrooms are very accessible

Two complaints: It's really LOUD, so hard to carry on a conversation without yelling. Secondly, we were disappointed at the wine list, specifically the lack of reasonably priced bottles of wine. Otherwise, loved the creative menu, food, and service.

The Vandal was excellent again. Incredibly tender and tasty Steak with the World's perfect Frites. Beet and Fig appetizer was outstanding. Grilled Squash, Lentils, Kale and other ingredients was great. Very tasty wine and great service!

Food was phenomenal. Interesting and delicious at the same time. We had three very different styles of diners (vegetarian, adventurous, traditional) and all of us were happy. Two suggestions: For a place that describes itself as a wine bar, larger glasses would help. I appreciate the option of a half glass pour so that I could try more wines. But they were served in tiny glasses, so it was hard to swirl or sniff the wine. Also the red was way too warm. Reds should not be served at “room temperature' Second, I am an adult. Please do not text AND call me to confirm my reservation. Neither is necessary; both are irritating. I made the reservation, so I will be there. I held it with a credit card. I responded to your text. But this still warranted a phone call???

The ambiance was so cute, cocktails were truly very good, but ultimately I wouldn't recommend the food for the price. By pictures and menu, this place seems like a win for the neighborhood. Ultimately the food was not up to par or what was expected. We ordered beef tartar that lacked flavor, an endive Caesar salad that only tasted of parmigiana cheese, the steak au poivre had not a peppercorn in sight or taste, and the duck was over which led to the skin being rubbery.

Great first experience! The service was warm, attentive, and knowledgeable. The wine list was tightly edited and creative and the Smoked Trout Rillette, Foie Blonde, and Steak Tartare were standouts. Our hands-down new favorite restaurant in Pittsburgh.
