Exceptional food and service. Very cute place with only 5 seats at the bar and about 12 tables. Everything we ate was fantastic. The only negative is the noise level. They play music - which is fine - but the smallness of the place and with nearly every table full it was impossible to have a conversation with my husband who was seated across from me at our 2 seater table. We literally had to shout at each other to converse.

Fabulous - got there at opening, sat at the bar. Ordered multiple drinks and shareables, each more delicious than the last. Nearly shed a tear over the hamachi, highly recommend. Sarah the bartender was great at educating on unique ingredients and pairings. The vibes were very special, not many places like it in Pittsburgh. Worth a quick return!

Amazing! I always love coming here. The fall flavors are so well represented in every menu item. It was a little hot though inside the restaurant!

It was great! The food and drinks were outstanding! The noise level was a little too high and it was really hot in the restaurant but still worth it for the food!

Lovely neighbourhood restaurant, enjoyed the meal, and ambience.

It could just be what we ordered but the snacks were larger than the items ordered off the 'to share' section.

Also a little disappointing that in this day and age they didn't have a Vegetarian main (entree) course available and no vegetable sides to go with the meal.

Lovely restaurant, menu needs a bit of a fine tune.

Absolutely fantastic place! I was on a solo trip and stopped here for a dinner and a drink and the female bartender was just so so good. Super professional, amazing mixed drinks and made me feel at ease while sitting by myself at the bar. The food was delicious and very flavourful and the atmosphere - you can feel people just love being here. A wonderful treat far away from home!

This was my first dining experience at the Vandal and I have to say it was exceptional. I highly recommend the octopus. Regarding the service, it was outstanding. This is a gem of a restaurant and I don't say that lightly. I cannot wait to go back!

Everything was great. But I cannot believe a high scale restaurant like this does not have a coffee machine. I think it's outrageous that you cannot have a coffee with your dessert, guys please buy a Nespresso machine even, they're 180 bucks at Costco. Service great, food great, but the coffee thing makes me really angry, for almost paying 100 bucks per person, not offering coffee is really something that can mess up your experience

The food was so well-prepared, with unique flavor combinations that elevate it past just another ‘new American’ dining spot. Their tight menu prevents decision fatigue and caters to a lot of palates! The menu also changes and reflects seasonal local ingredients.

Their wine program is also great, with a focus on Sonoma / west coast wines at reasonable prices. Finally, the service was so incredible! Loved everything.

Cute vibe for date night. We loved the green eyed lady cocktail. We had a reservation. Was a bit pricey but everything was delicious.

Very modern and good atmosphere restaurant for some pretty and delicious drinks and shareables! Vandal had phenomenal service, a lovely seasonal menu that is super fresh, and a nice look!

The drinks were great with a lot of fun options with different flavorings you don’t get everywhere! The appetizers, especially the farmers cheese with fresh vegetables as well as the tuna pate were out of this world! The steak frites live up to the hype, with an excellent sauce, as well as the Halibut with ratatouille being hands down the best out of everything. Unfortunately, the gnocchi was quite undercooked, but the sauce was quite good.

The other big miss was the dessert, with the panacotta being so thick, it was difficult to break apart with a spoon. The cake was a bit better, but not really worth your time or money.

Overall, the drinks, shareables, and most of the entrees were really great, a nice, upscale but still casual restaurant to go with friends!

Top class drinks, appetizers, service and atmosphere. Entrees are good but I’d go again for the apps.
