This place is amazing! When we first entered we were greeted by the bartender Stephanie. She was very welcoming and friendly. As we sat at the bar waiting for our table she went over the history of the home and its original owner John Woods. Then she gave us a menu to look over and asked us if we had any questions. She was the first impression of the Woods House and she nailed it! I had the fish pie, my wife had the Guinness pot roast and mac and they were both excellent. We also had an order of scotch egg and they were excellent as well. The food, staff and atmosphere were amazing. The dinner was also very reasonable compared to other restaurants. I cannot say it enough, you need to try this place. It is not only a great restaurant but an awesome experience. We will be back!!!

Being of Scottish blood, but never having been to Scotland, my daughter took me on a family/birthday/ history weekend with our first stop at Woods House Historic Pub. We had a wonderful meal of Scottish eggs and Bangers and Mash. That meal is now my granddaughter's all time favorite food! We were given a wonderful tour of the house and the history behind it. The tour was a special treat, upon request from a historical curator to owner, to experience the well kept and loved historical home/pub. Thank you, Woods House!!

We had reservations for 1/3/25 in the evening. We had a great time. It is such a unique spot. The food was great (Scottish eggs, fish pie, and chicken & chips.) I recommend and will be back!

A wonderful evening. Delicious food, great service. Parking is a little tight. The Scotch eggs were great - and I really enjoyed the bangers & mash. Holiday cocktails were delicious.

I love both the upstairs dining room which feels like a traditional, small, elegant Scottish Pub, and also the basement bar area which is more cozy with an old stone fireplace and a door that leads out to a patio where you can sit during better weather.

One of my new favorites. In my opinion there isn't near as many good, reliable restaurants in the South Hill of PGH especially on the route 51 side. I've been here a number of times recently and each time is fantastic. It's not huge, but very cozy, not the biggest menu, but just enough and it's always been spot on. Lastly the staff is wonderful, courteous, timely and the manager pulls it all together fantastically. A real hidden gem, and I can't wait to go back.!!

Quaint Scottish Irish pub type eatery in Pittsburgh
Simple pub menu with a slight American twist
Service was excellent. Interior of restaurant is modern yet with a pub atmosphere
Food was ok or good
Fish and chips Haddock was over breaded but fries were fresh and well seasoned
Tomato bisque soup had a fresh tart tomato 🍅 flavor
Not memorable but decent considering ambience and service
Bread pudding thick and hearty!
No Guinness stout dark bread! A real missed opportunity!
Not on my list of repeats!
Guinness pot roast Mac unique but lacking the real deal Guinness gravy!

I was looking forward to the meal, after reading about it in Shady Ave magazine. Unfortunately the flavoring fell short of my expectations. The Guinness Mac and cheese + Pot Roast was not too flavorful. Just missing the richness that I was expecting. Same was true for the Fish shepherds pie. Under seasoned. We liked the inside and outside seating. Service was good. Maybe just an off day.

We went for the first time last night. Everything was delicious. I had the fried green tomato sandwich and it was so so good. I can't stop thinking about it. Looking forward to going back!
Awesome atmosphere in a very historic part of the neighborhood. Looking forward to enjoying more drinks with friends there.
