Quaint Scottish Irish pub type eatery in Pittsburgh
Simple pub menu with a slight American twist
Service was excellent. Interior of restaurant is modern yet with a pub atmosphere
Food was ok or good
Fish and chips Haddock was over breaded but fries were fresh and well seasoned
Tomato bisque soup had a fresh tart tomato 🍅 flavor
Not memorable but decent considering ambience and service
Bread pudding thick and hearty!
No Guinness stout dark bread! A real missed opportunity!
Not on my list of repeats!
Guinness pot roast Mac unique but lacking the real deal Guinness gravy!

I was looking forward to the meal, after reading about it in Shady Ave magazine. Unfortunately the flavoring fell short of my expectations. The Guinness Mac and cheese + Pot Roast was not too flavorful. Just missing the richness that I was expecting. Same was true for the Fish shepherds pie. Under seasoned. We liked the inside and outside seating. Service was good. Maybe just an off day.

We went for the first time last night. Everything was delicious. I had the fried green tomato sandwich and it was so so good. I can't stop thinking about it. Looking forward to going back!
Awesome atmosphere in a very historic part of the neighborhood. Looking forward to enjoying more drinks with friends there.

Tried the Scotch eggs at The Woods House and let’s just say… they were everything I hoped for and more. Firm on the outside, tender on the inside, and so satisfying I almost needed a cigarette afterwards. The sausage wrapping had just the right amount of spice, the egg was cooked perfectly, and the dipping sauce tied it all together in a way that felt downright indecent.
The pub itself is cozy, historic, and full of charm — the kind of place you could lose track of time in (and maybe your inhibitions after a couple cocktails). Friendly staff, strong drinks, and food that knows how to hit all the right spots.

This place is a hidden gem. Just up the hill from greenfield avenue is one of the oldest buildings in Pittsburgh. It is absolutely gorgeous. But... the service is wonderful, the owner is a gem. The chef puts out some very very good, no, excellent food. The bisque was fantastic as was the Guinness Beef Mac and cheese. Save some room for the bread pudding it is the best I've ever had.

This was an absolutely brilliant accident finding this place. The fish and chips were fresh and hot. The bun and tartare were special! I took the bread pudding to go and it was thoughtfully packed with the ice cream separate. It too was delicious! You must check this restaurant out!

Pub-styled food at a price of the fancy restaurant. Nice setting, local beer (also very pricy). Overall we had a pleasant evening, but spent more than expected.

Very disappointed that I made a reservation to come here with family from out of town and we didn’t have a table. I am happy that they were busy, I prefer to support small local restaurants, but to not make sure you are holding a table for a reservation that was on time is inexcusable.

Today was our first time in and we had a fantastic experience! Service was attentive and friendly. The atmosphere of the space is so cozy and inviting with rustic fieldstone interior and historic character all around. Be sure to grab a cocktail and local beer with your scotch egg and bangers!
