Love this place, consistent staple.
The soggiest tasteless pad Thai. Didn't even finish it. I just threw it away. The most disgusting dish I ever got. Never coming back.

So good I want to gatekeep. The Tom Yum Noodle Soup was hot, flavorful, and the spiciness was just perfect at a 3 for something that had a hint of spice. I am in love with the chicken too- I got my Tom Yum Noodle Soup with golden chicken, and the chicken wasn't dry or overly oily. Perfectly fried bite sized pieces. Not a very Americanized Thai spot, so if you're expecting the heavy fare typically offered at Thai places around Pittsburgh, you may not get that. Not sure what these reviews are based on, because I was rather apprehensive before visiting since I wasn't sure what to expect. From my first dining experience here- Took Took 98 is absolutely my favorite Thai spot in Pittsburgh as of July 2025!

Seems like the quality has gone down in recent times. Photos looked good but we were let down. This photo is of the âstuffed wontonsâ lol it was barely a bite. Not good. The spring rolls are lettuce with a sliver of mango and cucumber. So sad!! The entrees get a lot more love but mine was
cooked incorrectly. Asked for light spice and got a level closer to medium or more (compared to other dishes from the same restaurant)
I ordered chicken pad thai for takeout and was charged $17 before tax and before the extra $1 "egg charge" (which isnt listed online, only as a printed out sheet in-store) despite the listed price on their website's menu being $14 for chicken pad thai. i asked the woman at the register if there was a gratuity included, thinking that might have been where the extra $3 came from, but she said no. so, with tip, i ended up paying over $20 for a single dish listed for under $14 on their website. the pad thai was okay but pretty dry and bland. the spice level (4) was good though.

Their entrees come in tiny portions as if they were appetizers. The quality and taste of the dishes are below average. Took Took 98 used to be my go-to Thai restaurant in Pittsburgh. With the prices increasing sharply and quality continuously declining, I'm sad that I have to wave them goodbye.

Some of the best made green curry I've ever had, the meat was cooked perfectly and it was the perfect amount of spice and deep flavor

I feel mixed. The food was nicely flavorful w solid quality that seemed slightly more authentic than your typical Thai joint. The atmosphere was bright feeling. In general, it was nice
However, like many other restaurants, and despite this being a 3.9 star place imo, I wouldnât go out of my way to go back. I just donât want to pay for this. Itâs nice and good and enjoyable, but isnât special or quality enough or unique enough to deserve spending $50-60+ on a dinner for two.
** random point that I didnât deduct for, there was a huge black hair in those veggie wrap things. They took it back and gave us a new one, but were not super apologetic. It still grosses me out to this day. I think when that happens they should do something significant as a sorry. Like replace the entire dish or take it off your bill. Donât just say ok and replace the one piece

This is my favorite Thai restaurant in Pittsburgh. I am obsessed with the Tom Yum Noodle soup. OBSESSED. i cannot come here without getting it. I love that they are authentic and not Americanized like many other locations I have tried around Pittsburgh. Her rice is one of my favorite dishes as well. The spicy fried rice & Thai fried rice are 2 of my favorite rice dishes. She has the best mango sticky rice Iâve tried around the city. The staff are amazing and caring. I come so much they know what i want lol. Itâs a very relaxing and quiet atmosphere.

Found this place pretty average compared to restaurants in the area. Pineapple fried rice had too much curry powder and tasted more like a curry rice than pineapple rice. Tom yum soup was good but expected more variety in the vegetables. Chicken basil was also average. Don't recommend the drinks as there are better juices nearby. On the plus side, staff are very friendly and place is clean and comfortable
