Very delicious. I love the broken rice and the broths. The shrimp was super fresh. I also got the banana dessert which came smothered in coconut milk and was pleasantly surprising. The banh mi sandwiches is such a good deal, under $10 and super flavorful and filling.

A family-owned and family-run restaurant since 1997, this is like eating at your grandparents’ house—if your grandparents had immigrated to the U.S. from Vietnam in 1992, and had decades of experience in cooking Vietnamese food. A true hole-in-the-wall, this isn’t fancy or flashy food—service is perfunctory, the menu is simple, and a few items are clearly their own (I’ve never seen coconut milk vermicelli at any other Vietnamese restaurant, for example). But what they do, they do well.

Decent pho. Not a first choice in flavor although it's authentic tasting and ok. Would rate the service higher if it was not cash only in this year of our Lord.

Since I moved from San Jose, CA, fifteen years ago, Tram's has been my #1 Vietnamese food restaurant here in Pittsburgh.
If you want a better one, you have to visit one on Tully Rd. in San Jose, CA.

All 3 of our meals were disappointing, and nothing seemed clean. I will not eat here again.

After having eaten here for 20 years I sadly have to revise my 5 star down to a 3 star. Trams's was the first authentic Vietnamese restaurant that I can remember in Pittsburgh and was a trailblazer. The food *was* excellent.

Unfortunately over the past 5-7 years the quality and freshness have suffered quite a bit, and the recipes have also changed to the point where it doesn't seem like the original Tram's anymore.

Tram's has always unapologetically been a dive, and I jave never minded that given the fresh ingredients and bibrant dishes. Now that freshness and quality have gone downhill, the dive component has really lost its charm and it just feels dingy and hygienically suspect.

I don’t understand why it has so many good reviews—maybe it caters to Western tastes, I’m not sure. The soup was okay, but the meat portion was small and quite bland. The noodles were even more tasteless. Overall, the portion was tiny and definitely not enough to fill me up. Aside from being cash only, there was basically no service beyond just bringing the food.

Incredible pho, can vouch as an Asian big city transplant to PGH. At 13USD it is very good value for money too. Really happy to have found this place! A Vietnamese-American friend recommended the place to us as the best pho in the city and she's probably right.

Will definitely be back to try other stuff! I got the Pho Hanoi soup per the owner's recommendation.
