It is a great place to be, and the employees have a good attitude.

Quick service, delicious food & reasonably priced !

Good food slow service. Need a bigger kitchen and to have half portions. You do not get a lot of time to eat lunch in Oakland.

So good! Dropping my son off at school we decided to grab a sandwich and were not disappointed! Now that I'm back in NY - I'm craving another one of their steak subs!

These dudes all need hearing aides. Every time I call in an order they mess it up without fail. I have to go back more often than not because I told them not to add something and they did or I'll ask for plain and they'll give me everything on it. Truly horrendous service. Bangin subs tho if they can ever get it right.

Food was tasty, but service was slow and rude. Also what the heck. No fries if you do take out? That's strange...

You get alot of food for 10 bucks. My favorite is the Italian Special, and grab Cajun Seasoning from the fridge and put it on your fries.

My boyfriend and I go there for lunch twice every week. It's a ritual now. Good food and really cheap.

I'm from South Philly, the home of the Cheese Steak. And I wish I could get a cheese steak sandwich half as good as Uncle Sam's in Philly. The place is small and often busy, but I try to get there every time I visit Pittsburgh. Forget Primanti's, Uncle Sam's is the best place for a sandwich in the Burgh.

Fantastic sandwiches, I particularly like their burger subs, but their other meats are fantastic as well. Bacon cooked perfectly, great fries as well.

I really wanted to give Uncle Sam’s at Pitt a 5 star rating since their subs are really very good. This is the best cheesesteak in Pittsburgh since few (VERY FEW) places in western PA know how to make a Philly cheesesteak anywhere close to what you’d get in Philadelphia (and since I spent my childhood a short drive from Broad Street, I know what I’m talking about). The negatives here for me are they don’t give you fries with a take-out order but do with eat-in, and if you want to use a debit card (you can ONLY use a debit card since they don’t accept credit), you’ll be charged an additional 99 cents for the transaction. Some people have noted the establishment is a bit greasy and run-down looking (it is), but I don’t mind. The quality of the product is good and seriously, you should see some of the cheesesteak joints in Philly; Uncle Sam’s is spic n’ span by comparison. Their chicken cheesesteaks are really good as well. Staff were friendly and quick with my order.

Good God, I'm convinced you can't get a better cheese steak anywhere other than Uncle Sam's on the face of the Earth. I had the Ultimate Philly Cheese Steak and it was absolutely divine. The flavors of the mayo, fried onions, mushrooms, and especially the steak meshed perfectly. Best sandwich shop in Pittsburgh hands down.

Great sandwiches and fries. Get it in restaurant not to go. If you get it to go you don't get French fries and it's the same price.
