Yesterday was my first time trying Yoshino. I ordered takeout for myself and my companions. Upon arrival, a gentleman behind the bar greeted me and asked for my info. After I mentioned that it was my first time ordering from Yoshino he asked where I was from and we chatted for several minutes.
I forgot to include eel sauce in my order. The gentleman said that it’s normally a $1 charge, but waived the charge for me, likely due to the amount I’d already spent.
The food was great. I had the combo poke bowl and everything tasted fresh. The flavors meshed well and there was a slight kick that brought life to the flavors of the fish.
I also tried their fried shrimp roll and it was delicious. Their premium rolls are huge and I could make a meal out of one roll, as opposed to two basic rolls.
I would definitely return for the food, ambiance, and service.

Really good food great service and lots of unique and interesting menu items! The space is very chill with comfortable seating and nice lighting conveniently located in the middle of Shadyside. Sushi is really good quality and beautifully presented and it's a little pricey but worth it! The starters are very cheap though and very good, definitely recommend
