The place is beautiful and super cozy—every little detail is so well thought out. The food was good, though nothing that really stood out. For what we paid, it felt fair.

They had a mix of breakfast and lunch options since it was brunch, including sushi, rice, and miso soup. Not really my vibe for brunch, but it’s okay. I just think they could improve more on the breakfast side and maybe cut back a bit on the lunch options. There were only frittatas, roasted potatoes, and bacon for breakfast, which felt pretty limited.

The cappuccino had a really thick, dry foam—not ideal, but not a huge deal. I’d probably take off one star just because I think the menu could use a bit more variety and focus, even if prices go up a little.

Place is an old bank & it’s amazingly beautiful, charming. A great choice for a pleas t time at Pottstown. This place is a discovery. Food excellent and service simply perfect.

We were really hoping for a great meal, but unfortunately, this place fell short. We waited a long time for our food, and when it finally arrived, some of the dishes were actually cold. The sushi was very basic and didn’t even come with soy sauce or any other sauces on the side, which really would have helped.

The Brussels sprouts came out completely burned, and even after they replaced them, the second batch was still overly charred. The noodles were extremely spicy (without any warning on the menu), and the chicken teriyaki was surprisingly flavorless. Most of the food just lacked seasoning or effort, and even the cocktails were just average.

For how much everything cost, we expected much better. Between the long wait, the cold dishes, and the overall lack of flavor, it just didn’t feel worth the money. Wouldn’t recommend — there are definitely better places to spend your time and money.

Ambiance & drinks were 100%. (remodeled old bank) Tokyo Manhattan good pour & lighter then expected. I was not a fan of the lobster green coconut curry & I Love Curry. Food was above average.

Im curious if the other reviews are legitimate. I ordered for my husband and I last night and not only was the food subpar.. the portions were way off. My pad thai had a weird flavor and the takeout container was packed full. My husband got the gnocchi dish and it barely covered the bottom of the takeout container. It also tasted like something I'd order from a pizza shop.. which for a $30 dish, was disappointing. I don't get the hype for this place at all. I had high expectations and will order elsewhere next time. Sad to write this review.

I ordered food from BE on 11/14/2024 along with another person who was patronizing a local business close to BE. We both ordered food and walked to the restaurant together. I ordered Pad Thai w shrimp, the other woman ordered the same however also had tofu added which she did not ask for nor want. After my first bite I realized the dish tasted funny. I eventually realized the taste was coming from the shrimp. I asked the other woman how her food tasted and initially she thought fine. I ate another shrimp and it tasted ok. She bit into a piece of shrimp from her dish and immediately spit it out. The shrimp tasted bad and had a weird cleaning chemical smell. I called the restaurant to report the incident and offered to bring the dishes back. We ordered another dish (swapped) and were given a dessert free of charge for the inconvenience. Later that night I got sick, I called the restaurant on 11/15 however needed to leave a message due to the managers being in a meeting. I had a rough weekend and had to cancel important plans. I followed up today 11/18, the first day I’m feeling better, to speak to a manager. I shared the incident and the aftermath, I spoke to the same manager we saw on 11/14 when we returned the food. The manager listened and stated she was sorry about what happened, that they conducted an investigation in the kitchen and no other patrons reported any problems. I reminded her there was another patron that reported a problem. I was told there was nothing they could do about what happened. I expressed I was disappointed at the lack of concern, she essentially explained it wasn’t that there was not a concern and repeated they conducted an investigation and that nothing could be done. I explained if she felt her response was sufficient then to have a nice evening and I ended the call.

I do not typically take to the internet to make reviews like this but IMO this situation was mismanaged. My dish was swapped out for drunken noodles, I was comped a free dessert of their choosing, and got very sick resulting in missing out on important weekend plans to be told sorry. Beware…

If you are a vegetarian, this is not the place for you. We went for our anniversary dinner after calling the location to confirm if they have vegetarian dishes, and ended up eating appetizers for a meal. Steamed edamame, vegetable rolls.
The only Veg entree was a eggplant steak. All dishes have some fish sauce and they showed no flexibility to accommodate.

Very disappointed with the experience and lack of flexibility.

We frequent Blue elephant, and often get take out. Tonight we ordered and specifically said that my daughter has a sesame allergy and to please not put sesame seeds on her sushi rolls. Called, instead of using door dash to be sure I was clear, NO sesame seeds. Her sushi rolls had sesame seeds, she couldn't eat any of it. I am Super frustrated with the lack of service and negligence , not to mention the waste of time, food and money. I'm so thankful she saw it and didn't eat any of them.

A local here - we’ve eaten here a dozen times, all great. This past Saturday however we ordered takeout, a $130 order - and it said $20-30 minutes. So We got there on time, if anything a bit early, and was told to wait a few mins, fine n/p. 5 minutes turned to 10, 20, 30, 40… so we killed time at the bar and the bartender was super rude, “can I get the check plz?” “Ya ya, I got it okay?” (First time asking, didn’t nag). So, all to say - very disappointing - treated really rude and rushed, and food wasn’t even ready, had to wait 45 minutes from the time we walked into the restaurant. I understand it was a Saturday and you’re busy but… no excuse to treat people rude and make a take out customer wait almost an hour for their food. Hopefully management reads this…

Absolute worst sushi in Pottstown, so dry!! Braised short ribs is delicious and rock shrimp is good. Drinks are hit or miss. The food doesn’t live up to the environment and it’s such a shame.
