'The Pub' is known for their hand sliced Roast Beef/Ham and Swiss Sandwiches...
They knocked it out of the park today with my Ham with Swiss cheese and horseradish...
I highly recommend stopping for these Top Notch sandwiches...

Typical country bar with above average food. If you're not a local, don't expect any attention. Upon entering for lunch while traveling for work, I'm served my drink and menu fairly quickly. After that, forget it. It took another 15 minutes to take my order, a roast beef sandwich. The sandwich is carved in 5 minutes, but 30 minutes after arriving, I'm staring at my sandwich, which has been sitting there ready for 15 minutes now. Do they not know people need to get back to work?

This spot was suggested by a local and boy it did not disappoint! My boyfriend said his French onion soup was "the best I've had in a LONG time". Our whole group got burgers and all were solid - well made, well cooked, good toppings. My patty melt was incredible. Decor is English pub meets late 70s wood obsession. Staff was friendly and meals came out quick. Definitely don't sleep on this spot.
Dietary restrictions: Not particularly safe for anyone gluten free. Definitely not safe for Celiac. Vegetarians also have a limited menu.

So you're going to walk in and a bunch of regulars sitting around the bar might create an initial air of awkwardness but I'm going to need you to push past this and have a seat in the back dining room. There you will find a sparsely decorated colonial feel with a couple handfull of tables. We had some beers of which there was a good number and of different varieties, not just IPAs. I had the whiskey burger it was good but nothing phenomenal, the Mrs had the crab cake sandwich which was the winner of the two. Also get the cheese steak egg rolls if they're on the board to the left when you come in. This is a solid establishment not just an acceptable one as other reviews would suggest, will be back again.

When you first walk in, don’t expect someone paid to greet you the second you walk in. This is a pub and everyone working here has stuff to do. It might take a minute. Don’t be shy, find a seat and patiently wait for the best pub meal and cold beer in the area. Chill patrons and great service. Crab cake sandwich approved by Maryland native. I’d make the trip every weekend if I could.

Worst meal I've had in the surrounding area wife got the fish and chips. Fish was obviously just a frozen piece of fish that was boughten from a vendor and I got the meatloaf sandwich. The meatloaf was gray. It was horrible and flavorless

Ye Olde Coventry Pub really is a local's pub: a long bar; Formica-topped tables and lots of wood on the walls. When my wife and I were there the other patrons seemed to know, if not each other, at least the service staff.
YOCP is known for it’s “hand carved” roast beef sandwiches and plates. There is a person behind the bar who carves a roast of some sort to order. We did not order it but several patrons did and they seemed to enjoy it.
My wife ordered a grilled Reuben. She had the option of sauerkraut or slaw on the sandwich and chose the sauerkraut. It looked good on the plate and she said it was very flavorful.
I ordered a shrimp po’boy which I felt was uninspired. Some rough chopped lettuce was placed in hoagie roll, topped with some chopped tomato and six, deep fried squares of what I assume was shrimp. There was a drab of sauce on each square – not what I’m used to in other places.
The french fries, which I believe to be double-fried, were excellent! Both our plates were covered with them and we ate the all!
If you’ve read this far and IF you’ve read any of my other reviews, you know I’m not one to gush. I think that when you read a gushing review (although I’ve written a few) it’s usually a friend who’s trying to help, or someone who lives on mac ‘n cheese at home. There’s nothing special about cooking a roast and slicing it down for sandwiches but many diners are impressed by watching someone carve a roast. That being said, there’s nothing wrong with YOCP, it’s just average and a nice, unpretentious place for lunch or dinner. I doubt I’d take friends from out of town there but I’d certainly go back. I go to places like that a lot.

Very enjoyable lunch there with 3 friends after a 5 mile hike at Coventry Preserve, about 8 minutes from there. Really enjoyed the German beer they had on tap, though I can't remember its name, and the whiskey bacon burger was a hit! Service was courteous and helpful.
